Thanks for uploading File:Latrell Mitchell.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

File:Willie Tonga.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Image categories[edit]
Your recent images are categorised simply as Category:Rugby league which is way too broad a categorisation when there are specific sub-categories such as Category:Rugby league players from Australia and ones for other countries. I did a few for you but got fed up as there aree a lot, so can you please add the appropriate categories for images already uploaded and any new images you upload. You can also add the camera type with "Taken with (camera name)" as well as year of birth as "1999 births" categories. Thanks Ww2censor (talk) 22:16, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.Elisfkc (talk) 04:49, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Image problems[edit]
You need to take a bit more care in applying the copyright tags to images you upload from Flickr. While reviewing some of your uploads I found several you had tagged as cc-by-sa-2.0 that were in fact only cc-by-2.0. If you use the Flickr3commons tool http://tools.wmflabs.org/flickr2commons/index.html it will do much of the work and do it correctly for you. It also allows you to batch upload. Also if did not do your crops so quickly, the Flickreview bot would pass the images and if you crop after that there will be no need for a human to review your uploads. The robot cannot compare the source with the cropped image because it is not the same image and says it can't find it, so a volunteer most look at it. If you cropped later it would be really useful and help us out s there were many of your images to manually review. Good luck. Ww2censor (talk) 21:01, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Flickr uploads[edit]
Can you please upload the the full original from Flickr, wait the 10 minutes or so it takes the bot to review the file, then make any crops or adjustments you need to? Otherwise these have to be reviewed by hand because the bot doesn't recognize altered files. I'd really appreciate it, and I'm sure my fellow reviewers would appreciate it too. Thanks for your time. lNeverCry 07:37, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.Yours sincerely, Yann (talk) 18:57, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Are you sure the subject in this image is Jordan Lussey? I've done a Google search, and it doesn't look a positive ID to me. I've looked through other Liverpool players from that season, but can't ID anyone else either... Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 13:34, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Flickr2Commons[edit]
I have just come across a few images you have recently uploaded from Flickr. I would appreciate it if in the future, you used the Flickr2Commons tool. This tool allows images to be moved to Commons from Flickr without having to download the images to your own computer. It also brings in the largest resolution of the image, as well making sure to list the correct license and url, making it easy for the automated Flickr Review system. Also, it is fairly easy to categorize images with this tool. To use it, you just need to go to the url and authorize it (where it says "authorise first"). Elisfkc (talk) 17:10, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

File:Rob Lever.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Copyright violations[edit]
Hello Fleets.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |
