Herne Bay Pier: sail trolley[edit]
In your picture File:Herne Bay Museum 0007.jpg, down right from text "Herne Bay's First Pier", is a picture of a 'sail trolley' (or 'sail bogey'). The latter article could benefit from a decent picture. If you happen to be in the Herne Bay area, equipped with camera, might you get a picture of that sail trolley which you could upload? - Yes I'm pretty sure that that old engraving will be out of copyright, and there should be no problem with uploading it. Unfortunately I live 250 miles from the museum, so I visit infrequently. I'll try and remember next time I'm there, though. You are welcome to continue to remind me intermittently, if you think I've forgotten, though. Thanks for the prompt - good idea. Meanwhile, what I know of that old sail trolley has been included in en:Herne Bay Pier.-Storye book (talk) 13:03, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Feline Hymnic (talk) 13:38, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Update: Herne Bay Records Society has been very kind indeed and they have sent us a jpg of the very picture you asked for. I've added it to the Herne Bay Pier article on en.Wikipedia, and the image itself is here: File:Pier Tram c 1855.jpg. Enjoy! --Storye book (talk) 11:24, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. My apologies for not acknowledging sooner... I hardly ever login to Wikimedia. Feline Hymnic (talk) 11:16, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
