Horse and Rider (Leonardo da Vinci) page corrections and/or deletions[edit]

Felcotiya, I hope this message gets to you. I find Wikipedia cumbersome, not intuitive and very difficult to use, especially trying to communicate directly with another Wiki editor. As the managing director for the consortium that currently owns Leonardo da Vinci Horse and Rider, it is my job to respond to the changes/corrections/deletion that have been made to this page. 1. Deletion of the photo of the wax model that appeared in the exhibit catalog of the Eriksberghallen exhibit in 1994-95. You claim the photo should be deleted because it is copyrighted material and permission has not been given to use it. In fact, the photo is listed in the catalog as coming from the owners of the piece who lent Horse and Rider to exhibit as requested of them by Carlo Pedretti, a co-curator of that exhibit. Not only is the photo in the public domain, but Carlo Pedretti himself gave permission to use it as well as any other documentation at his disposal. 2. Conflict of Interest You send me a message to beware of any edits made to the page that may be construed as a conflict of interest. As you know, as a Wiki editor for several years, Tradernet has been responsible for most edits and information on this page. He has the technical skill and experience to do so, I do not. That being said, what simple corrections or updates that I have authored on the page over the years are not a conflict of interest in any way. Facts are facts. As I said, one of my jobs as managing director is to make available to anyone who requests it, information we know to be factual, documented and proven about Horse and Rider. Tradernet did just that. He took great interest in the piece and agreed to help keep the page up to date. 3. Copyright violationI believe your claim that the page has committed copyright violations, refers to the photo of the bronze sculpture of Horse and Rider. The owners of the bronze sculpture and the mold it was cast from, own all copyrights/trademarks to the name Da Vinci Horse and Rider, including any photos. We would claim that any photos of the bronze sculpture are in the public domain and allow anyone to reprint as they wish. I appreciate the interest in Horse and Rider that you seem to have, but we take offense at the many incorrect statements, innuendo and false claims that you have made concerning the history and provenance of Horse and Rider, not to mention your outright vandalism of the page. I suggest that we communicate directly with each other via email, in order to set the record straight. As I have spent many years researching the history and provenance of Horse and Rider, meeting personally with many important Leonardo scholars, including Dr.Carlo Pedretti, who first discovered and authenticated the piece almost 40 years ago, I welcome any questions you may have of me. regards, Jim Petty Jim@magops.com
