Your signature[edit]

Hello ExE Boss, I recently noticed that your signature appears to be an un-substituted template. Commons:Signatures § Transclusion of templates requires that all templates used in signatures be substituted. You also may not alter the timestamp portion of your signature, as it interferes with automatic archiving bots and other tools. Using a table to style your signature is also a bad idea. Please change your signature, and let me know if you have any questions. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 21:37, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Translatable templates[edit]

Hello again ExE Boss. I noticed that you've recently started adjusting how some templates are translated. In most cases, it is not a good idea to use {{Tmpl}} with the Translate extension, as it increases complexity and maintenance overhead. It is better to use the built-in tvar substitution whenever possible. One of the benefits of using the Translate extension on templates is that a /layout subpage is usually no longer required. Furthermore, please consider how translations must be migrated when a template is changed from pure autotranslate to using the Translate extension. Page migration is an almost entirely manual process that must be carried out by translation administrators. The more changes made to the translation units before migration, the more difficult migration becomes. I would also recommend that you practice on templates that don't have as high an impact before jumping straight in to highly-visible templates. Please let me know if you have any questions. Oh, and please don't introduce more layout tables to templates. We've got enough as it is. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 21:01, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@AntiCompositeNumber (Special:Diff/584047994): I feel like that one doesn’t count as a layout table, because “Reason” and “Date” are information about the suggested move.
If it falls under anything, then it would have to be “simple lists”. — ExE Boss (talk) 15:40, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Template editor given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted template editor right to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to work with templates. Please consider enabling two-factor authentication for your account. Furthermore, please look at Category:Commons protected edit requests (template protected) occasionally and try to help your fellow Commoners with responding to their edit requests. Thank you.

Can I suggest that this be renamed to Template:Naval as the WPs do it, and to separate it from the templates for the colour navy?  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:14, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Billinghurst: I’ve renamed it to {{navy flag}} in order to avoid confusion with {{naval ensign}}. — ExE Boss (talk) 08:35, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
