File:Mitsubishi Pajero van, front view.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Croped automobile images[edit]

Thanks for your work, but as we discussed here (in german) the automobiles you cropped (Example: File:Ferrari_360_Modena_-_Flickr_-_Alexandre_Prévot_(40).jpg) have to much crop to override the exists one. Please read Commons:Overwriting_existing_files. Its not necessary to crop more than the watermark. Otherwise please upload as new image. You can use Template:Retouched_picture in example like here. I am going to revert all (maybe most of the) cropped automobiles images soon. --Slick (talk) 12:07, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Slick: , thanks for letting me know. I did not know about it. I hope you are keeping well. I will definitely remember next time not to make the same mistake. I only needed the high quality images for the Wikipedia articles. Take care :) --Nim Bhharathhan (talk) 12:11, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that your crops are becoming to tight. But the mass revert was a poor outcome of this. It should have been discussed first. OSX II (talk) 01:34, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also Nim, you are welcome to crop any of my photos (and Flickr uploads). There is no need to upload the files under a new name, as long as the main subject is the car. If the picture is a car in the street showing a distracting road or something, the value of the image is in the car not the road (so cropping out the road improves the photo). If the photo is of a car in front of the Sydney Opera House or something with a pleasant background like this photo, then crops should be re-uploaded under a new filename. Commons:Overwriting existing files only applies if the original image has value in itself. OSX (talkcontributions) 01:50, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored your crops for most images, but did re-do some myself, for example: File:1997 Ford Falcon (EL) GLi sedan (17670566466).jpg. If you have time, feel please consider re-cropping some of the other files. File:2000 Ford Falcon (AU) XL utility (25769377680).jpg is way too tight for example. Uneven crops[edit]

Hi Nim, thanks for making crops of many of my photographs this past week. You are doing a great job, but I do have one tip. For aesthetic reasons, it is best to have even equal distances for the crop between the sides of the image and the car. In your crop of File:2000 Ford Fairmont (AU II) Ghia sedan (2015-05-29) 01.jpg, the crop at the front of the car is much tighter than at the rear. Having (roughly) the same distance front and rear would be better in my view. Thanks, OSX (talkcontributions) 05:14, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@OSX: You are most welcome. I was actually quite busy leading up to exams. I also have been asked out on a date over the holidays!! I also like your photos and want to use them in the article of Wikipedia, how about talk to me over there, we can talk more :) --Nim Bhharathhan (talk) 05:32, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I've seen you today example of File:2015 BMW 640i (F06 LCI) Gran coupe (2016-04-29) 01.jpg and you lament the quality of the crop, I can always recommend the "Lossless-mode" (you used unnecessary the Precise-mode). Anyway the optical focus of this image lays unfortunately on the ground. User: Perhelion 14:03, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I reverted your crop at File:BYD F0 in Vientiane Laos.jpg. Please read COM:CROP. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:44, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Same at File:2000_Nissan_Pulsar_(N16)_ST_sedan_(2016-01-04)_02.jpg. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:46, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
