First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Je viens de voir que tu as importé File:Maison Cros.jpg, merci beaucoup. Par contre, ne voulais-tu pas participer à Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2016 ? (aucune obligation évidemment, c'est peut-être un choix volontaire et désolé de mon intrusion si c'est le cas ; si tu veux participer, il faut soit utiliser le formulaire d'import spécifique campaign:wlm-fr, soit mettre le modèle {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2016|fr}}).

Pourquoi mentionner "anonyme" quand l'illustrateur est connu ?[edit]

Sur les métadonnées de cette image https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:L%C3%A9onada_-_polka_brillante_pour_(...)Chaudoir_F%C3%A9lix_bpt6k3952150.jpg , vous avez précisé "anonyme" alors que Gallica précise que l'illustrateur est Beer.

Merci de m'expliquer les raisons de cette mention "anonyme", que je ne comprends pas.

You are claiming that Gallica have released it under a CC-BY-SA license - I cannot see that license on the web site. If it is PD then it needs to be changed to a PD license - see Commons:Copyright_tags#Non-U.S._works

Bonjour @Enrevseluj: Merci pour vos contributions très intéressantes et très précieuses. Il y a juste eu un petit bogue dans la photo Berean Baptist church (Vieux Fort, Sainte-Lucie).jpg. Le nom du fichier indiquait Berean Baptist church. Mais, il s’agit bien de Our Lady Of Assumption Catholic Church (google.com/maps/place/Our+Lady). C’est la statue dans la fenêtre du 2e étage qui m’a fait penser que ce ne pouvait pas être une église baptiste. Pas de soucis, le fichier a déjà été renommé. Il reste juste le nom sur wiki (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vieux_Fort) à mettre à jour. Si j’écris aujourd’hui, c’est pour savoir si vous avez une photo de Berean Baptist church (Vieux Fort, Sainte-Lucie) dans vos archives (google.com/maps/place/Berean) svp ? J’aimerais bien aller à Vieux Fort un jour, mais comme je ne sais pas quand ça arrivera. Tous mes vœux de paix et d’amour (Wikipédia:WikiLove). Merci et bonne continuation.
