Bitopertin[edit]

Your structure Bitopertin structure.svg has an error. It's missing a nitrogen atom. The associated formula is correct. For correct structure see http://www.ecnp.eu/~/media/Files/ecnp/Projects%20and%20initiatives/Medicines%20Chest/Bitopertin.pdf

I have now fixed the image. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 23:47, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your tagged PNG files[edit]

Hi Edgar181. Your files listed above are in Category:Chemical images that should use vector graphics. Could you please check, if the tag may be removed (in the case of high resolution PNGs), if there is already an SVG version, or if you consider uploading an updated version of higher resolution/quality on top of the old? Thank you. Leyo 13:45, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will take a look and sort through them as you suggest. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 15:02, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Just take your time. --Leyo 19:39, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Category for Chemical Drawings[edit]

Hi Edgar181, thanks for adding categories to most of my chemical drawings. Best regards, --Jue (talk) 07:02, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to help out. Ed (Edgar181) 13:11, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SAR302503 (TG101348)[edit]

Your 2D structure of SAR302503 is wrong at two places. The -NH2 should be replaced by a -CH3. Moreover, both linkers between phenyl and pyperidine should be -NH-

Yes, it looks like one of the nitrogen atoms was misplaced. I have now corrected it. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 15:06, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Edgar. I need your help. Please look the deletion request. The user nominated an own file for deletion, claiming, that the file is incorrect, but I am not sure in that. Taivo (talk) 23:03, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

See en:Ozone vs. en:Cyclic ozone. I transcluded the DR page to Commons:WikiProject Chemistry/Deletion requests to receive more opinions. --Leyo 23:57, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have left a comment at the deletion discussion. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 11:40, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Flubendiamide[edit]

Hello,

there is an error in your flubendiamide.svg - the right-hand amide group is the wrong way around (-NH-C(=O)- instead of -C(=O)-NH- as in the left-hand group). See also this file. Hope you will correct it; I have written an article on flubendiamide for the Dutch wikipedia since it has recently been approved in the EU. Greetings, Klever (talk) 09:06, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

addendum: the I atom is also wrongly placed; it should be ortho to the left-hand amide group. Klever (talk) 09:22, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't recall the source for that structure, but it does seem to be wrong. I have uploaded a corrected structure. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 12:23, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There seems indeed to be an error in the MOLfile that I used (source: www.genome.jp/dbget-bin/www_bget?cpd:C18520). I will use your svg-file now, thanks very much;) Klever (talk) 08:31, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Amides and category names[edit]

Leaving aside the question of whether the amides are primary, secondary, or tertiary, please note that the category name is misspelled: it should be "substituted", not "substitued" (which feels like a compromise between the English and French spellings: ("substitué" + "substituted") / 2 = substitued?))

I've spoken to an admin, who says that he's not willing to implement the automatic changing of all relevant category tags to correct that error for as long as the issue may be controversial.

I politely request that you post on that discussion page and assent to at least having the spelling error corrected. DS (talk) 14:02, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can't believe I never noticed that. I have placed a request at User:CommonsDelinker/commands to have the bot rename the three categories. Ed (Edgar181) 18:47, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
File:Isavuconazole.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

You pulled it from Commons:WikiProject Chemistry/Deletion requests but it's still open (the original nom was closed, but re-nom remains open). Could you either re-close it (as admin) or re-list it (if it should remain open)? DMacks (talk) 18:24, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

D'oh! I removed it by accident. I must have been misled by the original portion that was closed. Thanks for catching my mistake. Ed (Edgar181) 11:09, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nifene[edit]

Hi Edgar- The chemical structure of Nifene (Nifene_18F_svg) has an Oxygen atom missing. Instead of the carbon atom linking to the pyridine ring, it should be replaced with an oxygen atom. Thanks- Chicago86

Yes, you're right. I have now corrected File:Nifene.svg and File:Nifene 18F.svg. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 17:01, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edgar-- Actually it is the other carbon atom next to it that needs to be an oxygen, not the one you replaced- Thanks- Chicago86

I'm not paying enough attention, am I? I think they are correct now. Ed (Edgar181)

Thanks! Looks good- Chicago86

The sodium-salt article has a pretty poor image (File:Sodium Hyaluronate.JPG), whereas your image of the neutral acid (File:Hyaluronan.png) looks great as usual. Could you make one of the sodium analog to match the acid's style? DMacks (talk) 16:47, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I created File:Sodium hyaluronate.svg and replaced the JPG, which I have nominated for deletion because it contains errors. Ed (Edgar181) 11:20, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! DMacks (talk) 16:26, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Desmethoxyfallypride[edit]

Hi Edgar- The carbon chain with the fluorine has to be moved to the right side carbon position of the aromatic ring.--Thanks- Chicago86

fallypride[edit]

Hi Edgar- The carbon chain with the fluorine has to be moved to the right side carbon position of the aromatic ring.--Thanks- Chicago86

I fixed them both. Thanks again for catching the errors. Ed (Edgar181) 15:20, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edgar, Fallypride looks good. Desmethoxyfallypride is not fixed yet. Just FYI. Thanks--Chicago86

Absolute stereochemistry for File:Alentemol.svg[edit]

The ref cited on the en.wp article about this compound says it's the (+) optical isomer (or at least the HBr salt of it is). Do you have access to the ref (PMID 1874898) to see if it has an actual structure with R/S information? SciFinder doesn't seem to have any additional detail:( DMacks (talk) 19:19, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't have access to the full article. A google search turns up this page in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Encyclopedia, which suggests the racemate. But this document announcing its INN lists it as the (+) isomer, but doesn't show the stereochemistry in the accompanying structural image. So I can't determine if it is R, S, or R/S. Request for revision of images[edit]

Hi Edgar, Based on feedback from others - which I've subsequently confirmed by my own research; I believe the following structure images may be in error (Note: I've left feedback on the Commons talk pages of each the images)Dichlorophen‎, Cefbuperazone, Cefbuperazone, Sodium tetradecyl sulfate‎, Pentagastrin‎ - I've sorted out the rest of the Chem/Drugboxes but I'm not well equiped to make nice svg images - could you take a look? Thanks, --The chemistds (talk) 16:30, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your assessment of each of these. I have created corrected SVG images and then replaced and deleted (or nominated for deletion) the incorrect versions. Thanks for your ongoing efforts to curate Wikipedia content and for catching these errors. Ed (Edgar181) 13:12, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help. --The chemistds (talk) 16:48, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Azamethiphos structure is missing a nitrogen

Fixed. Thanks for letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 14:50, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image for LY-255,582 might need amending[edit]

Hi,

Looking at: File:LY-255,582.svg I think that there is an OH group missing from the phenyl ring (See the ChemSpider and ChEMBL entries for this compound). Could you please take a look and maybe correct? THanks, --The chemistds (talk) 18:05, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are right, so I have corrected it. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 22:22, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I removed your Category:Sulfurous acid. The image appears to have only two oxygens (not H2SO3). I have no idea what chemical this actually is:( DMacks (talk) 11:57, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that. I put it in Category:Sulfur oxoacids. Ed (Edgar181) 20:54, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ed, I think the 2,2-dimethylpropanoate group should be in meta position. --Yikrazuul (talk) 12:17, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you're right. I'll fix it now. Thanks, Ed (Edgar181) 12:20, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
