Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Thanks... I have just uploaded the file "Planar chiral ferrocene derivative.PNG" to commons, a file I've previously uploaded at en:wp. (I would have put a link but apparently it is an external link for some reason.) Could you please have a quick look and see if I've done the uploading and categorising corrcetly? Re: Image of Scolopendra cataracta from ZooKeys?

Look for Figure 9 in the paper. Given that this image has 3 species in it, you might need to do some processing on your computer by cropping out the 2 other species and then retain only the Scolopendra cataracta. Given that the all of the journal articles are licensed under CC-BY 4.0, you are permitted to adapt and modify the image as long as you included the original authors, publisher and DOI in the description and made it clear that it was modified from an image within the journal. I would recommend that your license remains the same as the original journal when you upload the modified image. Let me know if you have questions. OhanaUnited^{Talk page} 04:19, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice, OhanaUnited. I have uploaded an image (not from Fig 9, though, I think it is a different species) at en:File:Scolopendra cataracta from Zookeys.jpg. I tried for the same license but my understanding of all the CC BY whatever stuff is poor, would you please have a look? EdChem (talk) 09:02, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

It appears that you uploaded the files to English Wikipedia. I have transferred the files over to Commons so that it's available to be used by other projects (e.g. other languages of Wikipedia, Wikispecies, etc.). I have also revised the license slightly. @OhanaUnited: Thanks. One thing I'm unsure about, the revised license points to here which says CC-BY 3.0 but the ZooKeys site says CC BY 4.0. Does the difference matter? EdChem (talk) 06:43, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm not an expert to tell the difference between 3.0 and 4.0 licenses. I only know that the template was created when 3.0 was the latest version and those ZooKeys papers (plus their images) are published under 3.0 license. I don't know if ZooKeys went back and applied 4.0 retroactively to those papers, or only the newer papers are licensed under 4.0 and older papers are licensed under 3.0. If it's the earlier case then the solution is very simple. We just need to change the license to 4.0. But if it's latter case, it becomes more complicated because we need to check all of the existing uploads and see which ones belong to 3.0 and which ones belong to 4.0 and split them accordingly.
