Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?

  • Moin! Ich habe die pdf's erstmal behalten. Problem: Die Quellenangabe eigenes Werk ist natuerlich Unfug und muss verbessert werden. Ich habe aus den einzelnen Dateien auch eine Datei mit allen Seiten erstellt. Werde ich nach der Klaerung der Quelle gerne hochladen. Hallo Abadonna, du hast einen LA auf deine Datei, was ganz klar ist.- Da du keine Angabe machst, wo die Köstlergasse ist, gelten die verschiedensten Gesetze. Denn wenn du diese in Südtirol machst, ist es verboten, ist es jedoch in Österreich ode rin deutschland, dann ist es nach der Panaromafreiheit erlaubt. Fotolizenzen[edit]

Hallo Abadonna. Ichglaube du bist dir über die Urheberrechte alter Fotos nicht im klaren. Der Fotograf muss mindestens 70 Jahre tot sein, damit ein Foto seine Urheberrechte verliert. Ist der Fotograf wie in vielen Fällen nict bekannt, so wird bei Commons ein Mindestalter für deutsche und österreichische Fotos 100 Jahre hernagezogen, in der Annahme, dass er dasnn wirklcih bereits 70 Jahre tot ist. Also bei unbekannten Autor ein Foto später als 1916-1918 (aus dem Krieg) ist praktisch nicht mehr legal und keine Sekkiererei von Commons, sondern auch zu deiner Sicherheit. ja, der durchblick wird imemr getrübter, hatte an anderer stelle den hinweis auf diese lizenz erhalten mit dem hinweis, alles was anonym ist und älter als 70 jahre, darf :-( {{PD-anon-70-EU}}

Stolpersteine in Brandenburg[edit]

Hallo Donna Gedenk, ich habe bemerkt, dass Du in der letzten Zeit hier viele Stolperstein-Fotos aus Brandenburg hochgeladen hast. Bei einigen davon (Bad Freienwalde, Eisenhüttenstadt, Löwenberger Land, Panketal, Rheinsberg, Seelow und Wriezen) hast Du keine gültige (vorhandene) Kategorie hinterlegt. Ich habe diese hier heute alle neu angelegt. Bitte lege neue Commons-Kategorien zukünftig auch gleich mit an, damit die Commonscat-Aufrufe in den dazugehörigen Wikipedia-Artikeln auch richtig funktionieren. Stoplerstein-Kategorien auf Commons[edit]

Hallo Donna Gedenk, bin über das ungelegte Ei Category:Stolpersteine in Bærum gestolpert. Eigentlich müssen so Stolpersteinkategorien nur in die Gemeinde/Ort einsortiert werden und in die Stolpersteinkategorie der nächsthöheren administrativen Einheit.

GPS-Positionen[edit]

Hallo Donna Gedenk, tolle Arbeit, die Du leistest! Nur eine Frage/ein Wunsch: Siehst Du eine Möglichkeit, mit erträglichem Aufwand für Dich die GPS-Positionen in die Metadaten Deiner Bilder zu bekommen? Ursprünglich wurde dafür sogar ein extra gerät gekauft, aber irgendwann wurde es vergessen oder ging kaputt und es stimmten die daten auch nicht immer.--Donna Gedenk (talk) 19:29, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Danke für Deine Rückmeldung. Ja, das Problem mit der Ungenauigkeit kenne ich leider auch. Aber "näherungsweise" stimmt es doch meistens. Meine Nikon kann das auch nur über die App meines Handys.
