OptimusPrimeBot

Hi! It seems that there is a some problem with it. OptimusPrimeBot doesn't copy authorship correctly from the target page. It is necessary to fix because if we keep only name of creator (without his/her organisation) some editor may doubt that the file was actually created by NASA employee (for example) and therefore copyright-free. Template:ISS Expedition number

This is an excellent template, but I have one question regarding the diffusion threshold. Auntof6, JopkeB and myself have been discussing the threshold for flagging categories as needing help at Categories requiring temporary diffusion). We have found very few diffuseat parameters set above 200 (which is the default if not set). You have set it to 500 for this template, so if you could share your reasoning for that high of a threshold, I think it would be quite informative for the discussion. Thanks! OptimusPrimeBot selection process for file to be deleted, when all is the same, including the date, hour and minute uploaded.

@Don-vip, How does OptimusPrimeBot choose which duplicate file to delete, when everything is exactly the same, including the exact same date, hour and minute these files were uploaded?

Could you please explain this Bot decision process step by step (I do not write code). Also, can you provide the link to the full code that processes and tags duplicate files?

The four files I uploaded below have been tagged by your Bot for deletion. It appears that usually this Bot selects the newest file for deletion. If that is correct, then what other parameter has been coded to select a file for deletion with all things equal- including the same date, hour and minute?

Hi @Ooligan. The bot marks the newest files as duplicates of the oldest. If I remember correctly the timestamp precision is of one second, so probably your uploads were done a few seconds after the files that have been kept. vip (talk) 15:49, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

How to determine provenance?

I Looked at File:HLS-black (1079348640239).png because I have never actually seen this logo in a NASA presentation. There is no obvious way to verify to find an actual nasa.gov URL that can verify that this is in fact a NASA work as the copyright notice asserts. I have no idea why NASA publishes these resources there instead of their official website but it's from NASA employees, I found this site through NASA twitter accounts for Artemis program.

Hi @Arjoopy! It's a side effect of replication lag. My tool checks file contents to make sure to not flag a duplicate several times but it does not work when the database replica is not synchronized with the production database. Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue.
