Why did you revert my categories edits that relate to "Greeks in art" and "Ottoman Greeks in art"?
@E4024: I hope you have a good explanation. You only gave one explanation among the many reverts, that didn't make any sense. Namely that Ottoman Greeks are Greeks. Yeah, i know that. How does this makes my categorizations wrong? How am i spamming? Demetrios1993 (talk) 21:58, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi. How are you? I hope everything is well around you and family in these difficult days. As you may easily see the "Category:Ottoman Greeks in art" is a subcat of "Category:Greeks in art". Therefore using both cats together is spamming. We do not use "labels" here, as they do in social media. If you have future doubts you can ask me or the colleague who opened the Category:Ottoman Greeks in art. With pleasure we will help you. Sorry for my simple edit summary; as for your user name, Demetrios, I took you as a Greek, and as we all know the Greeks are intelligent people. That is why I did not enter into details before. - Not at all. If you wish you may also add "Category:Greeks" and "Category:Art" etc also to the same files, but that may take you to an unwanted collision with other users. Good-bye. E4024 (talk) 23:09, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- @E4024: I don't see how this makes things better. People press the page to see Greeks in art and expect to find everything in one page. Wouldn't it better to keep "Greeks in art" without any files and just the subcategories options? I mean "Greeks in art" is a very general term. - Why not? If you can convince the Commons Community on one of the following ways to follow: 1. Change all our categorization system so a newcomer will be happy that his propositions make effect. 2. Make an exception in our categorization system for the pages related to Greeks, in order to make it possible for "People (who) press the page to see Greeks in art will find everything in one page". IMHO it would be fair enough for the Greeks who made us possible to live in a civilized, democratic world with delicious food; although I doubt people will accept this as other peoples will begin to ask exceptions for their supreme nations and we will find ourselves before a Chaos, just like in Greek mythology. - @E4024: I don't see how what i advised is an exception. If i recall correctly i have seen again in the past main pages (with no material) that have a number of sub-categories (with material). Sorry for the delay, so about the map I have a following proposal to tackle the usual pov. It should portray: 1. The boundaries by A. Psalidas, 2. The short-lived casa of Camlik/Tsamouria/Chameria/Risadye/Igoumenitsa (the three kazas=Filiates, Paramythia, Margariti), 3. The version of S. Frasheri (+kaza of Preveza), 4. The linguistic pocket (map of Kokolakis, based also on Baltsiotis detailed description). What do you think?Alexikoua (talk) 07:28, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
