Your picture of the starfish[edit]
Hi guys! I recently sent a picture to wiki commons of a starfish I found. Sadly I haven't heard anything from you guys about it. Is this my fault as in like I didn't send it to the right place or if you did get it what happens to the pictures you guys don't use ? I'm waiting to hear back from you guys and thanks for letting me join this site and you can send any type of work for me to help with !!! 😃 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ddemod (talk • contribs) 03:50, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Your picture is at File:Found Under My Island's Seas.jpg. User:FredD identified it as a picture of Oreaster reticulatus. We get somewhere over 10,000 new pictures a day. Is there some particular place you believe it should be used? - Jmabel ! talk 05:23, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Ddemod, as said above by Jmabel, your picture is nice but it depicts a very common animal, which has already 69 illustrations on Wikimedia, including several better ones than yours. If you want your pictures to be used on Wikipedia, you have 2 solutions :
- - take a picture of something that has no illustration yet on Wiki Commons ;
- - take the best picture of a subject already pictured. You can submit your pictures to 3 labels : valued images, quality images and featured images.
- Don't hesitate to come back to me when you have a picture you think can be useful.
- Best regards,
