I would like for these images to be deleted as soon as possible. I do not wish to wait out the week. After reading all of the policies here, I did not receive permission from the source even though these are publicity shots. Please remove both photos in my gallery. Thank you. ~Cybdisco 9:12 am. 19, September 2008

Hi Cybdisco,
sorry that it took some time for my reply to your question. A rather practical, easy-to-understand and still systematical guide about what you can upload (in regard to copyright) to Commons is here: Commons:Image casebook. Reproductions (scans or photos) of CD/DVD/LP/.. covers are usually not allowed as the original (the cover) is almost always copyrighted. It doesn't matter that you own the CD/DVD/.. If you want to upload a work of art created by someone else (or a reproduction of it), in general you need his/her (written) permission to upload it under a free license (as required by Commons policy) as he/she owns the copyright. Exceptions from that rule are when the artist is dead since >70 years (may vary for countries) or if the work of art is permanently installed in the public of a country that has "freedom of panorama" (see COM:FOP for details). --Túrelio (talk) 07:32, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
