Time zones in Mato Grosso, Brasil[edit]
Hi! Forgive me if my text suddenly goes wrong, because I use a translator to communicate in English.
Mato Grosso officially uses the UTC -4 in winter, and uses the UTC -3 in summer. But municipalities eastern border with Tocantins and Goiás, unilaterally use the UTC -3 throughout the year.
This custom is local but is not covered by state or federal laws. Legally, the time zone should be to Cuiabá, Mato Grosso (in winter: UTC -4, and in summer: UTC -3); however, these municipalities only use UTC -3, according to the time zone of Fortaleza, Ceará (UTC -3 throughout the year without summer time). That is, from the third Sunday in October, to the third Sunday in February, Barra do Garças and others are equal to Cuiabá's summer time (UTC -3); but from the third Sunday in February to the third Sunday in October, these eastern municipalities of the state of Mato Grosso is equal to winter time of Brasilia, Federal District (UTC -3).
That is the reason why this peculiarity does not appear on the map, "Standard timezones and DST of Brazil.svg". In the other map (DaylightSaving-World-Subdivisions.png) only local custom of using time zones, regardless of governmental laws of each place in the world is.
Greetings and good contributions!
