First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Podívejte pane Zelenko ! Čtu Váš komentář a takto odpovídám : a) vila Conků v Kroměříži , kterou jsem vložila já, je fotka obrazu, který můj dědeček nechal udlat po tom, co nechal postavit tuto krásnou vilku v Kroměříži po roce 1900 . On byl z Prahy a tak se inspiroval ( když na to měl v Kroměříži peníze) pražskými architektonickými prvky a to je vidět. Zjistila jsem na commons, že tato vilka je na seznamu "Kulturních národních památek České republiky" a to mne potěšilo. Lidé , kteří vilku vlastní nyní, ji nechali opravit a jejich předkové mého dědečka i znali. Já si přeji, aby vedle fotky stavby, která se nachází již na commons, tam byla také moje fotka obrazu vily z roku 1905, kdy vila byla dokončena.Buďte tak laskav, a už se touto věcí nezabývejte. --Conkova Cognetti Kvetoslava (talk) 08:03, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

b) na commons je spousta jiných osobních fotek a tak jsem je tam vložila i já a váš kolega korektor je zařadil do kategorií, které již na internetu existují a nachází se tam spousta osob. Fotky jsou z mých mladých let, nyní jsem nyní SENIOR,zúčastnila jsem se kurzu wikipedie a připravuji různé články, ve kterých je chci použít. All photoes that You do not want to publish on COMMONS are MINE and are too old for keeping negatives an so on. Kwanda base photo where You can see me and my italian colege from Rome was shot with POLAROID camera in the year 1082 . The camera was mine,I have spent 9 months working there on site of TEXACO as "engineer" and if I used the help of one local worker asking him to press the botton on camera because I wanted to be on photo during the innauguration of TEXACO oil base in North Angola , You cannot consider that unkown person owner of that photo. In this occasion I wish to request also to change the Category given ba somebody of You ïn Seatle : Category should be : People of Rome and NOT People of Czech repblic. I was in Prague to attend the lesson of wikipedia because in Rome, where I live , they do not organize them , so You can see my articles in Czech language, because I can speak also this language, not only the Italian an the English languages. Furthermore I wish to ask You the folowwing: Please PUT again all my photoes insert recently by me in Your COMMONS. You block them and I had no idea that You can do it and that the approvals come directly from Seatle. I need my phtoes for my articles, that I have prepared for wikipedia. Be so kind and put them again on commons. Also my friend Ivan Plicka wanted to use 2 of those for his article , but You blocked to both of us the possibility to insert other photoes. You can see me in photoes of some buidings and the bottom of the camera was pressed by one unknown worker whom I asked to soot the photo . I am writing the article for wikipedia abou the begening phase of the construction of Kwanda base, Soyo . Angole, that You can find also in commons with the photo of these days. I protest against Your administrator Rohnjones of blocking me possibility to edit. I was attending the Course of wikipedia organized for Seniors in Prague and during that period my old friend Mr Ivan Plicka , who knows me since 40 years, wanted to write the article in wikipedia about me and my "life story". Mr Rohnjones had NO RIGHT to block to both of us the possibility of edind.
