Hello Coding.wizard.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

File:"neutral" Social Media tags.jpg[edit]

Hello Herby, Could you please specify whose right have I violated by using a PEACE of screenshot of a public web page? How can you blame a person in violating anything unless you know whose rights are violated? Where on this page

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaee/downloads/java-ee-sdk-6u3-downloads-439814.html

can you see ANYTHING regarding the copyright? This is a technical page having no visual value at all, practically a plain text. And I used not even a screenshot, but a peace of it after preparation in Photoshop (cropping, overlapping, adding color marks etc.) Could you please indicate the owner of this content, whose rights where violated?

Thank you, Coding.wizard

Also, I haven't received any "requests from editors not to do so", I just found images on the page missing and was wondering about the reason. In that case I would expect to see at least some message notification in my Wikipedia account or e-mail. Probably you should try to improve the user interface of your site prior to blaming people. I find this attitude being absolutely unfriendly and unmotivated.

Thank you, Coding.wizard

OK - any media hosted here must be able to be freely licensed. You are not able to freely licensed the facebook, g+ etc icon that were on the page.
Additionally another admin had deleted it first and you re-uploaded it ignoring the message that was left on this page about the file.
No idea what you mean about having "requests from editors not to do so"?
Possibly you are thinking that Wikipedia is the same as Commons (this project). It is not. This project exists solely to host freely licensed images. Wikipedia has articles. You had notifications about the images on your talk page here as the images were uploaded here. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 15:23, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"requests from editors not to do so" - this is the quotation from your message above:
"It has come to our attention that you have uploaded several files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful."
As a new user I had no idea where to look for messages regarding pictures deletion. You may say that I could easily find it on dozens of pages of instructions, but that is what the user interface is supposed to do in any user friendly application. Wikipedia takes over advanced tasks to evaluate, classify and change the content provided by users, but treats those users as Linux administrators from 90s, which are not supposed to see/use anything but manual pages.
For instance, when you say "leave me a message", there is no hint/reference/link/button on where am I supposed to do that: on your "Talk" page, my "Talk" page, e-mail...?? I am just asking you to realize, that from user point of view this process looks absolutely archaic and incomprehensible, and this is the reason for many/most of so-called 'violations'.
"any media hosted here must be able to be freely licensed. You are not able to freely licensed the facebook, g+ etc icon that were on the page."
then wouldn't it be nice of you just to tell me this reason in a message, for I could fix it? I am not a lawyer and I didn't now that in XXI century any letter 'f' in a circle or square is supposed to be a property of Facebook (bravo, we start selling letters!). Then if I erase these letters, or put in a square another one (which letters are still free?), will this picture be allowed to appear?
Thank you
OK - there are three requests above the final warning one - placed because you re-uploaded an image deleted by another admin.
You obviously aren't happy - hard to know what to say to that. You decided to make use of Wikipedia, I guess if you don't like it there really isn't anything much I can say. I'm just a volunteer.
Looking at it your article is likely to be deleted on Wikipedia so I guess there is little else to say really. --Herby talk thyme 16:40, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds a little bit like: if you are not happy with the air pollution - then don't breath:) I am trying to suggest how to make things better, don't I. Does it sound unreasonable? Instead of three times of reading through my page, deleting, and posting the same meaningless formal "Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content", just to say "no Facebook icon"? Why not just to be humans, especially voluntarily? Before opening (by chance) the "Talk" page I was sure that my pictures are disappearing as a result of some computer bug.
Now I've asked you if I can modify these forbidden icons (replace letters in them) in order to let this picture pass your control? After your "last warning" I am afraid to publish any other picture without consulting with you. Actually, from a person willing to help, not to punish, I would expect cancellation of that "last warning", as soon as I've explained the reasons for my confusion. Could you please answer this question, it would really help me to decide what to do next.
Thank you
Effectively all your questions are answered above and have been from the start. Templates are not the best answer maybe however there is a shed load of information about this project, licensing, how to do things etc contained in the links on this page. I'm unlikely to be online again for much of today and simply do not have time to walk every new person through exactly what they have to do. --Herby talk thyme 07:53, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:"neutral" Social Media tags.jpg deletion[edit]

Hello Herby,

1. I haven't received any "requests from editors not to do so", I just found images on the page missing and was wondering about the reason. In that case I would expect to see at least some message notification in my Wikipedia account or e-mail. Probably you should try to improve the user interface of your site prior to blaming people. I find this attitude being absolutely unfriendly and unmotivated.

2. "neutral" Social Media tags.jpg picture is a peace of screenshot of a free browser Chromium showing a free public content of a technical web page (not an application) http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaee/downloads/java-ee-sdk-6u3-downloads-439814.html having absolutely no visual value (practically plain text), devoted to free Java SDK6 software, processes by my own hands in Photoshop using cropping, color marking, color editing. Could you please give me any motives (your professional criteria) which allow you to blame me in "copyright violation"? Could you please indicate the person, organization or company whose rights were violated? Unless you think that you have right to delete ANY picture without understanding its content just because it a priori MAY violate the copyright?

After getting the power of censorship you guys have moved too far from the initial ideals of Wikipedia, loosing the connection with reality. Be aware that reality will certainly pay you back after a while.

Thank you, Coding.wizard
