Prefix order and double width icons

Hi! Great that you're working on this, some really good ideas here. One detail: You say among the naming rules that

5. Prefixes are:

1. Zero or more of u-, e-, x-, m-, in that order.
2. Zero or one of c-, d-, v-, w-.
3. Zero or more of h-, t-.

There are exactly 2 double-width bases, each with three variants, and they do not actually correspond to a single width ( (KBFl) is a station continuing to the side in my new system). As such, I chose to suppress the prefix, but there is still room for me to change my mind, I guess. In any case,  (KBFl) and   (bKBHFl) will not be so neatly connected in this new system. At least introducing w- eliminates the issue with bu- icons. Circeus (talk) 14:21, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Naming rules #3

I don't think that it is a good idea to have a space in the name of an icon, as I feel that it will lead to confusion as about the icon's name, and is also an invitation for mis-typing. If you must have a spacer in an icon name, at the very least use an underscore (_) to indicate that the suffix is attached to the root. (I would like to refer you to Catalog of pictograms/junctions: Crossover components as the only current example of spaces in an icon name.) Useddenim (talk) 20:15, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

That is the intended meaning. I very nearly used that convention for the "end-of-line" icons in ABZ until I realized it made im possible to tell apart the vertical and horizontal ones! I don't think it actually got spread much elsewhere, but it does grant a level of needed flexibility IMO. Circeus (talk) 02:35, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Station types

No harm done. There's enough wiggle room to exchange them, but I figured I'd keep the first letter of xp- to make the conversion as seamless as possible. Circeus (talk) 05:28, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
