Tagging of overlays

Could you set the bot to stop tagging files ending in overlay.kml (example diff)? These are geolocation overlay data files that do not work properly when wikitext (like categories) are inserted. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:55, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Just put them in Category:Geocoding overlays. Multichill (talk) 17:35, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
I thought that prevented them from working properly, but I may be mistaken. In any case, it seems to be irrelevant as the toolserver account for the functionality is expired. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 16:08, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

please don't tag catogorized imaged

Dear botter, Please don't tag catogorized images as "non catogorized", as: [sample https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Phycita_diaphana.jpg&action=history]

Thanks User:Tonton Bernardo

The bot checks if a category exists and if it doesn't exist, it will tag the image. In this case you didn't create Category:Phycita diaphana yet. Multichill (talk) 15:16, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
From my experience, it seems easier to understand when you state it in the edit summary. (c.f. ex). --McZusatz (talk) 14:16, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion McZusatz. I added it to the new version of imageuncat.py (part of Pywikibot). Multichill (talk) 17:47, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

I have a bunch of files here in process of manual categorisation; however, bot comes along daily and tags them with {{Uncategorized}}- strictly correct, but somewhat redundant. {{bots|deny=CategorizationBot}} doesn't seem to prevent this. Is there a way of opting out of this service? Cheers. Rodhullandemu (talk) 19:16, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

If the category is not hidden, the bot won't touch it. Multichill (talk) 20:20, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
OK, thanks, there's no particular reason for it to be hidden. Cheers. Rodhullandemu (talk) 20:27, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Britannica images

Images from the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica are categorized automatically using the {{PD-Britannica}} template. Marking these images as "uncategorized" is an error, since they actually do have a category. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:28, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

No it's not. The image only contain source and license categories (both hidden) and no topic categories. Multichill (talk) 18:24, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
