Why did CategorizationBot notify me of already categorized images?

Answer: It didn't. At the time you got the message the image was tagged with {{Uncategorized}}. In the meantime someone added a category. Check the timestamps in the file history if you don't believe me!
I don't believe you: Have a look to this [1]. My categorization has been done on 10/29/2012 23:12 WITH UploadWizard, the "Uncategorized label" has been added on 10/30/2012 01:49. ℍenry (Babel talk !) (Francophone ?) 09:59, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Category:Cimetière attenant à l'église Saint-Vivien was a red non created one when the bot added uncategorised. --Foroa (talk) 10:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes. I've slept betweem the upload and the creation of the cat. ℍenry (Babel talk !) (Francophone ?) 10:51, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

The bot appears to be adding this category to a lot of images of people. As you surely know, People by name is a meta-category, intended only for categories named for people. It should have no images.

I'm going to remove all 216 of them from the cat, but you can look at File:Afedulova.jpg as an example. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 21:28, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

That's weird, that category is on the blacklist. Not sure why it's being added now. Multichill (talk) 15:17, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Please add Category:tracking categories to blacklist (Tracking categories + people by name). --Foroa (talk) 15:34, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
As a general rule, all disambiguation, redirect and meta cats should not be used for images. --Foroa (talk) 15:44, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
It continues to add the subject cat to perhaps 20-30 images a day. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 11:14, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
It's still at it. Unless you can change this behavior, I am inclined to block it. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:22, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Threatening with blocks is not appreciated at all. Category:Living people was causing this. Multichill (talk) 20:23, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I don't like threats any more than you do, but I made two previous comments, the first of which was six weeks ago. Apparently only the threat got your attention.
At least two of the images in today's batch have no people in them, see File:Cat 1.jpg. They were all added to the category before your comment, so I will wait and see what tomorrow brings. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 11:27, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
File:Alexandr astashonok.jpg was put in Category:People by name on November 5, so the problem continues after your comment above. You don't like threats, but the bot is not working correctly -- what would you like me to do? .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 11:09, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
proper fix. There might have been some old unfinished instances running around on the toolserver causing this. Multichill (talk) 21:00, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

OK -- I see that although it continues, the numbers are way down -- from 50 to 100 per day last week to a handful today. I'll wait and see and let you know before I do anything. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 22:08, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Seems to be fixed now -- thanks for your attention to this. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 13:13, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Haha, thanks for your support. Multichill (talk) 21:19, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Bot removing categories?!

On File:W.E.F._Britten_-_The_Early_Poems_of_Alfred,_Lord_Tennyson_-_Mariana.png and several other files, the bot actually managed to reduce the number of categories by removing Category:William Edward Frank Britten. This is completely unhelpful. Adam Cuerden (talk) 15:04, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Category:William Edward Frank Britten + Category:The Early Poems of Alfred Lord Tennyson = Commons:OVERCAT. Multichill (talk) 21:18, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
