Lol

Lol you should look out english version of the picture. Do it, copy categories from english version, and thats it! Please do not post notifications on my talk page so clear things. --Olli (talk) 10:53, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi Olli. CategorizationBot is a bot and not a human. What may be easy for you is not easy for the bot. Example someone takes a picture of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and the picture has Category:Bill Clinton and Category:Barack Obama. If someone makes a crop with Bill then it would not be correct if the bot just copied the categories from the original. Or maybe there was also a picture of a nice car in the picture and if someone made a crop with only the car then it would of course also be wrong to add the categories from the original. So even if there is a link to some other file you can't just add the categories from that file.
The best way to avoid getting messages is to add the right categories when you upload new files. --MGA73 (talk) 14:15, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Please would you delete this image who I had introduced, for two reasons:
  • This picture is not used in any article ;
  • This person is deceased & his last want is : "no pictures of me in any madia".

Thank you, --Spiridon 83.113.250.71 Manoliu (talk) 12:06, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Question about automatic categorization

I uploaded this file, a photograph of Canadian mathematician and Scrabble champion Adam Logan. The CategorizationBot, by this edit, then added some sensible categories, but also added Category:Islands of the United Kingdom and linked to British Isles as a related gallery. I've fixed these, but I can't help being curious about why the bot made these choices. Can anyone explain? Can the botkeepers use this example to improve the bot? Jim Lane (talk) 14:23, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi Jim Lane. The bot used this tool [1] that find out where the file is used checks which categories is used on the article and then it tries to find the matching categories on Commons. If the categorization on the article is good and the categories uses {{Commons cat}} to link to Commons then the suggested categories will also be good. It is hard to improve the script so we still need humans to check categories. When you have checked categories you may remove the {{Check categories}}. --MGA73 (talk) 15:11, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

My images

Dear CategorizationBot,

I forgot to add the category. Maybe you can add here the categories? The correct category for both images is "Grodzisk Wielkopolski" (a city in Poland):
