Flickr question

I understand your bot will pass a flickr image if the license is a valid commons one. But since Flickr doesn't have PD or GFDL, I was advised to just put a statement on the flickr page about the PD/GFDL license. Is this okay? Also, is there a template I can use to link the commons image page to the flickr version? So far I am just putting in a link. See the three images I just uploaded for samples of what I'm talking about. My user name is the same on Flickr. Featured picture templates

Hi. I saw that you have used BryanBot before to move nominations (or create redirects) from Commons:Featured picture candidates/Image:... to Commons:Featured pictures candidates/Image:... so that the automated link works in the featured picture template. PD-Vlaams-gemeentewapen

The discussion started about these three images (1, 2, 3) but then ended up in Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/User problems#User:LimoWreck and User:Sonuwe with a report on me underneath. The main thing is that PD-Vlaams-gemeentewapen makes it sound as though Belgian CoA's are not PD by default which was what I was working from. If they are all PD then thats great and the template should be updated. However so far I haven't seen any references to any laws just a blogg. /Lokal_Profil 21:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I looked into this, but could not really find anything useful. I could not determine whether a law or regulation exists that declares COAs into the public domain. It should however be noted that the wording of the Dutch version is slightly different worded. The word that is translated as public in English is openbaar in Dutch. This meaning is more similar to public as in public body and much more general than the public of public domain. -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:03, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Is that template based on the same sources as our Template:PD-Vlaams-gemeentewapen? Yes it is based on the same sources; our template is a translation of it. According to the wording of the template the different parts of Belgium can be considered entirely separate, which I think is highly likely. Flickr upload bot bug

Bryan, I love Flickr upload bot...I just wanted to report a minor problem. If you process an image for upload and select categories for the image, then it turns out that the filename already exists on Commons, the selected categories are lost when the page reloads. Hoi Bryan, zou je de limiet voor het vermelden van doorverwijspagina's op w:nl:Wikipedia:Links naar doorverwijspagina's willen verlagen naar 40? De lijst is de laatste paar weken namelijk vrij kort en het zou mooi zijn als er minimaal bijv. 50 pagina's op staan. Is het mogelijk om enkel pagina's op te nemen met meer dan 50 inkomende links als dat er meer dan 50 zijn en anders de lijst op te vullen tot 50 doorverwijspagina's? Dat lijkt me namelijk erg handig, maar ik neem aan dat je dat op dit moment niet ingebouwd hebt. Wie weet iets voor als je een keer tijd hebt. De lijst is in ieder geval erg handig. Bedankt! Dat is ja ook toevallig, ik wou net met hetzelfde verzoek komen - die limiet verlagen nu het aantal dp's met zeer veel links zeer klein is geworden. Dat idee van sowieso de eerste 50 meenemen, klinkt inderdaad wel geschikt, maar zolang het er niet inzit zou je met de hand het aantal kunnen verlagen en kijken wat momenteel geschikt is. - Andre Engels 07:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Als een minimum zou kunnen zou ik persoonlijk in plaats van slechts 50 liever 100 of 150 stuks prefereren. (Misschien zelfs 200.) De reden hiervoor is dat we in 1 dag al tweederde van een lijst van 105 stuks hebben afgewerkt. Daarnaast is het bij het aantal links naar deze pagina's lager en dus eerder opgelost. Flickr web tools

I love your upload tool. Is there anyway to let others know a image has already been uploaded? I know it automatically detects it sometimes, but I found a couple images we have that when I tried to upload it didn't warn me.
