Thanks for uploading File:Ronald Blakeslee Colby.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Ronald Blakeslee Colby.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File copyright status[edit]
Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your recent file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Patrick Rogel (talk) 21:34, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi
We are requesting unblock motion. The picture we posted on our page IS OWNED By our company. It is the documentary poster for blakeboard56 aka Ronald Colby's movie Pirate for the Sea.
Very confused here ...every single picture we are uploading belongs to our company yet they are all taken down. why? Also we are not doing this on purpose ...additionally this is the reason we are still under New User. Honestly administrators are not much help if all they do is block us just because of several mistakes. We were under the impression that using sandbox is where we are allowed to make these mistakes.
thank you Natasha — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blakeboard56 (talk • contribs) 01:21, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- If you own this image, could you please change the licensing on Flickr on the image you uploaded to cc-zero, cc-by-2.0, or cc-by-sa-2.0? Thanks. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 03:12, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi Thank you for your feedback. The image I thought you were discussing is the last one we uploaded today. The flickr one you mentioned we uploaded weeks ago and we had filled in all the info for the person that took the picture which originally came from the filming Mr. Colby aka blakeboard56 had taken during the shooting of the film.. Apologies for all the mistakes but once more we are new to wikipedia and not intentionally want to cause issues. Wikipedia is complicated as we are learning.
we thought we were blocked for the picture we uploaded today as our last contribution .

- Hi Natasha. I've requested your block and I'm going to explain you a few things. In short you're making things in the wrong order here and on Wikipedia. 1/ Wikipedia : You've been asked 17 October to clarify your relations with Mr. Colby and to disclose who is paying you, on whose behalf the edits are made, and any other relevant affiliation on your Wikipeda's User's page. You say yesterday you are "Mr. Colby's assistant" but says above Blakeboard56 is Mr. Colby. It needs clarification. 2/ Wikipedia : Your User's page at Wikipedia is not the place to host drafts since your sandbox is hosting your draft already. Once your draft completed you should submit it for reviewing. It's useless to care about pictures at this step. 3/ Commons : use the time before your draft is reviewed to ask for the permissions of the various copyright holder and ask them to send their permission via COM:OTRS. Please note at this step that the copyright holders are almost always the photographers and not the person pictured, so theorically not Mr. Colby. I think one month won't be too long for you to perform these tasks. Kind regards, --Patrick Rogel (talk) 17:34, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi Patrick,
Thank you for clarifying. I did not receive any alerts or maybe being so confused by the system on wikipedia I did not see the request for clarifying my Position with Mr. Colby. To clarify I am Mr. Colby's assistant , more specifically I assist Mr. Colby in his day to day office work. One of these task was to create his wikipedia page. I stated that blakeboard56 is Mr. Colby because I thought there was confusion as to who Mr. Colby is. I had only mentioned that I am his assistant to explain why I was making so many mistakes on wikipedia. Additionally I was under the impression that Sandbox is where to create and may mistakes. I only learned how to use Wikipedia through Youtube So apologies for all the mistakes. Thank you for all the tips. I will be more careful moving forward.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Please sign your postings[edit]
As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.
