Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

- Ok. OM du hämtar numret direkt från deras sida så se till att du använder det nummer som i följer texten "anlaggningId=" i url:en. Om du använder exempelvis "historikId" istället så blir det fel. Det kan ofta vara enklare att hämta ID direkt från kartan på [1] eller från listorna på svenskspråkiga Wikipedia. /Lokal_Profil 16:53, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Felaktigt daterade bilder[edit]
God dag! Först och främst ska Du ha ett stort tack för alla Dina fantastiska bilder – det blev en trevlig överraskning för mig att stöta på dem. Emellertid har jag tyvärr lagt märke till att en del av Dina bilder automatiskt verkar ha daterats felaktigt. Jag bör förtydliga att detta inte är Ditt fel, utan sannolikt har kamerans klocka gått fel, vilket inneburit att felaktiga datumuppgifter lagts till till filernas metadata, vilka en bot i sin tur har utgått ifrån och placerat bilderna i felaktiga datumkategorier (som denna). Jag är villig att hjälpa till med att rätta datumen m.m., men jag skulle i så fall behöva Din hjälp. Om vi skulle börja med den kategorin som exempel, är månaden uppenbarligen fel. Men tror Du annars att året stämmer? Lägg märke till att ifall man är osäker på en bilds exakta datering tillåter Commons en att endast ange år, eller till och med ett intervall (exempelvis "2003–25 oktober 2011"). - Hej och tack för dina uppmuntrande ord om mina bilder. Jag uppskattar att Du vill hjälpa till att rätta datum på mina bilder. Bilderna är tagna med en liten Fuijkamera och tydligen har inte datum fungerat. Det kan även bero på att jag missat med inställningen. Kameran finns inte längre i min ägp utan hamnat på miljöstationen. Har svårt att erinra mej vilket år och datum bilderna är tagna. I vilket fall inte 2003. Möjligen tidigast 2006. Bäst att ange årsintervall. Är mycket tacksam för din hjälp att göra justeringar.
