Pay attention to licensing
Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.

File:Marija rio2.jpg seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file.

If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.

العربية  Deutsch  English  español  français  日本語  മലയാളം  polski  português  slovenščina  svenska  Tiếng Việt  简体中文  繁體中文  +/−

The reason given by the user who added this tag is: The up-loader is aware (and brought it up themselves) that the license they placed was (on reflection) incorrect and is making attempts to obtain an OTRS from the copyright holder. So advise against speedy deletion in this case. As of now though, take note that this licence is incorrect.

The photographer emailed his permission (using the recommended template for release of rights) and now we're waiting for Wikimedia to accept it.--Bernarda Lusch (talk) 02:11, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That is a relief to know. Currently, the WC OTRS community have a back-log of about 80 days worth of work to go through (we are all volunteers). In the mean-time post here, any corrections (as to dates and anything else that you think needs improving). Also, think about any other images that you can add. Now you have uploaded once, new additions get easier and more satisfying to do.--P.g.champion (talk) 14:55, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No doubt, everything will be much easier after I read all the instructions :) Anyway, it's good to know that people here are so willing to help, thanks! Regarding the image date, actually it's correct after all, I checked it once again. Do you want to put the author's name instead of mine or you have to wait for validation? --Bernarda Lusch (talk) 04:10, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It would be good practice for you to have a go at changing this now, so that you learn your way around a WC page. As I said, validation takes many days and that is to validate the author not content and description etc. Just go to File:Marija_rio2.jpg. Scroll down to Summary edit. Click on edit and it will show: == ==<br>
I would replace “|source=own with “|source=uploaded by Bernarda Lusch” because YOU are the source which uploaded it.
Then simply replace |author=Bernarda Lusch with the photograph’s name after |author=. When the OTRS gets validated, everything else should (says me hopefully) fall into place.
Have a go.--P.g.champion (talk) 17:39, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done! I have some experience with HTML basics so I'm not an absolute beginner. I will just need some time to get into Wiki rules. Thank you once again! --Bernarda Lusch (talk) 05:19, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That is good. You have done well. The next step you can take if you wish, is to have the photographer create his own Wikimedia Commons account. Then you will not have to do all the uploading and everything for him. You can still help but it makes life easier for both of you. I'm am not in Хрватска but if he clicks on his name in the Summary box, he should find himself in a Wikimedia version of create user that is in a language that he understands. He can then add a little autobiographical information (such as what his hobbies and interests are and that he likes sport photography etc.). He can then upload images himself without having to send in an OTRS every time.--P.g.champion (talk) 14:53, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I will ask him if he would do that. (BTW, we Croats use Latin letters, not Cyrillic). --Bernarda Lusch (talk) 05:35, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
