Acropoclipse[edit]

I thought that Acropoclipse.ogv was a beautiful video and very nicely put together, etc. I decided not (myself) to put it where it would eventually have a location on the commons main page due to the "advertising" that is contained within. Situations like wiki/commons generate a lot of noise which is made from many individuals -- the result of that is that there is a large noise from a majority which may or may not include the voices of those who vote and such. I always thought that I "heard" a larger voice from here which welcomed media (images, sound and etc) with ownership water marks on it -- that media can live here if it has the proper license and such. But media with the ownership watermarks does not get used and unless the "owner" is long dead (like Edison Manufacturing), it really does not get put on the Main Page.

If you can find a watermarked POTD or provide some argument that helps me to know how my understanding of this commons "tendency" is in error, it will help me not to remove it -- since I think that such watermarked media shouldn't have that location, even for a day.

Too bad about that also because it is a very beautiful video and very well crafted and a nice blend of educational/entertaining/reality. -- Queeg (talk) 21:54, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Try something (only if you so desire to volunteer to do this, lord knows!), try uploading a big, beautiful, sharp, interesting photograph that has a url or a copyright placed politely towards one of the edges/corners. Nominate it for Featured Image and see what happens. I make no claim to know what the majority thinks and feels about many things -- this one thing is somewhat simple though.
There is a limit to the number of big, beautiful, sharp, and interesting video and sound file here -- MOTD would soon end if it used the same criteria, but that is not the case with files that are not watermarked.
And, think of the people involved in making those watermarked items. How embarrassing for them to have it on the Main Page. It is like singing with a karaoke machine at a real music bar. I have seen this and it is a lose lose situation for everyone. -- Queeg (talk) 09:17, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
One of the challenges (or "one of the things that makes it fun") is to find media that is suitable to be on the main page. I think that if you were to honestly investigate this matter, you would agree with me and perhaps even see the fun in the challenge. Like I said, not all of their criteria can be met on MOTD -- and that is the freedom part, where the interesting, funny, obscure yet still educational or at least definitive media can be chosen and have its day.
Personally, I don't have a problem with the watermarks on the videos -- this (the commons) is simply the wrong venue for it. Do you think that the musicians and the photographer failed to get the attention they needed and deserved from the Creative Commons venues and from YouTube and any other place where watermarked media like that is showcased? -- Queeg (talk) 03:03, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Creio que esta logo não pode ficar aqui no Commons. [1]. O Gunnex a carregou aqui, para nao usar no URC na PT, sob o argumento de que se trata apenas de letras e formas geometricas. Creio que isso é uma temeridade e completamente equivocado, pois é uma marca registrada , com um trabalho de arte feito nela, em cores e letras e boxeamento elaborado. Nao são apenas letras. É tão absurdo tudo, que a fonte indicada por ele é o proprio escritorio de design que criou a marca...o nome disso é "apropriação indébita".. MachoCarioca (talk) 23:04, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Desbloqueio[edit]

Tenho um outro login no Commons que está bloqueado. Este login (fabsouza1) é o mesmo que eu utilizo na Wikipédia lusófona, com o qual, tenho status de autorrevisor. Por conta de minha inexperiência inicial, carreguei algumas imagens com copyright. Esses carregamentos acarretaram o bloqueio. A quem solicito o desbloqueio da mesma? Arquivos eliminados[edit]

Beleza? Me diz uma coisa, a Patricia R não é mais daqui? Na PD dela a última msg é de fevereiro desse ano.

Preciso clarificar uma situação aqui. Um adm pode indicar uma foto para eliminação e ele mesmo eliminar a imagem, sem perguntar nada pra ninguém? Ele pede a eliminação e ele mesmo elimina tres minutos depois? Eu estou com um problema, que vc pode acompanhar na minha PD. Eu vi uma eliminação de imagem feita pelo Darwin. Não foi carregada por mim, mas achei muito estranho ele mesmo pedir eliminação e ele mesmo eliminar e rreclamei na tag de eliminação. Assim que deixei essa pergunta lá no tal Village Pump, apareceu uma msg do mesmo na minha PD avisando que a imagem File:MissU.png, essa sim criada no Photoshop, tinha sido colocada pra eliminação, porque ele achava ser copyvio (de onde, não disse). Interessante que o aviso já chegou com a foto deletada, (um desenho e letras) ou seja, ele mesmo achou que era copyvio, ele mesmo, marcou para deletar, e ele mesmo deletou em seguida, sem nem esperar a opiniao de outro, ou mesmo avisar ao carregador, no caso eu, que um carregamento meu estava sendo colocado para eliminação, a fim de ser discutido. Foi simplesmente eliminada por ele mesmo, que parece desconhecer algo chamado Photoshop para se criar imagens ou letras.

Quando argumentei sobre isso lá no local apropriado, a argumentação do editor foi de pura e simples disseminação de desconfiança, falando do meu longo log de carregamentos copiraitados (de onde ele tirou isso?) ao invés de se ater ao ponto especifico do pedido de retorno da imagem. Pouco depois coloca dois avisos de eliminação de imagens na minha PD, já deletadas por ele por sinal, sem me dar qualquer aviso e ainda dizendo que as carreguei e que caso eu insista seria bloqueado (tipo aviso padrão). Essas imagens foram carregadas há meses. E voce pode confirmar - já que eu não posso, pois foram eliminadas, acredito serem essas - que as tais duas imagens que ele diz serem copyvios (não se sabe também como sabe disso, pois são fotos ruins, daquelas que existem aos montes aqui que fãs tiram de celebridades e carregam aqui em DP) não foram carregadas por mim, eu apenas cropei duas imagens que já existiam aqui, carregadas por outras pessoas que nem sei quem são. Estavam aí pelo Commons e as cropei e carreguei derivadas de material já existente, são de mulheres estrangeiras.

Trata-se evidentemente de harassment de um adm contra um editor, motivado por motivos extra Commons, como sabemos. Eu gostaria que vc desse uma olhada lá no meu pedido de undelection da imagem que fiz e ele por si só eliminou, de maneira a resolver isso direito. Há msgs na minha PD, na dele, no Village Pump e no undelecton request sobre isso, gostaria que checasse a situação o mais breve possivel e me dese um retorno. Upcoming Commons Upload Wizard storyboard[edit]

Dear Beria and Otourly (I don't know exactly whom to address), I've seen the "tutorial" storyboard for the upcoming Upload Wizard, but it presents a big error: the verb "voice" are *not* in accordance, where they should be. Sometimes it's tensed in the second person (you), other times are tensed with third person (I don't even remeber the name for this in Portuguese) - this situation does not happen in English, but it does in Portuguese, and I believe in Spanish and French too, but the person used should be consistent all over the (imperative) text. RE:Porto - Recent uploads[edit]

Ola Béria, estava ainda a preparar a explicação (em inglês) para colocar na categoria, mas em português é mais fácil. Eu, muitas vezes, vou à Category:Porto ver se apareceram fotografias novas para incluir em artigos, ou substituir outras menos boas. Como também muitas vezes já estão classificadas nas categorias inferiores, não encontro nada, e é muito complicado procurar dentro de todas as subcategorias. Assim, nesta categoria estarão os últimos uploads, fáceis de encontrar. Claro que esta categoria exige uma manutenção constante (pelo menos uma vez por mês), de modo a se manter actualizada e não crescer muito (neste momento tem os uploads do mês de Agosto). Creio ser útil, embora possa não se enquadrar nos "standards" da Commons. A manutenção é relativamente simples com a ajuda do CatScan V2.0β. Esta participante falhou a sintaxe na {{WLM-PT}} (falta um pipe "|" a separar o ID) e, por sua vez, o Tm não ajudou, colocando {{WLM-PT}} com id=1 (mais abaixo). Ou seja, para todas essas imagens, preciso de adicionar um pipe a seguir a WLM-PT e remover "{{WLM-PT|1}}" podes ajudar? Vou corrigir todas as categorias criando novas, movendo o seu conteúdo devidamente categorizado e utilizando o template {{category redirect|new name}} na categoria (vazia) errada.
