Macro shots

Hélas, ça ne marche pas avec moi! I have tried using higher ISO settings with my Nikon D80 and I got always unnacceptable noise in macro shots, even with ISO 200 ! Photo de cathédrale

Salut Benh. D'abord bravo pour tes photos, j'aime beaucoup celle du jardin du Luxembourg. Pour ta cathédrale, à moins qu'il ne s'agisse de la cathédrale d'Évry, très récente, elles sont toutes dans le domaine public (leur architecte est mort depuis plus de 70 ans). Il n'y a donc aucun problème de droit d'auteur. Les cathédrales appartiennent toutes à l'État, sauf celles qui ont été bâties après la loi de séparation de l'Église et de l'État en 1905.

Sinon pour les Terreaux, l'œuvre de Buren et Machin (j'ai oublié son nom) est vraiment toute petite : c'est un ensemble de fontaines qui parsèment la place. Ce n'est pas vraiment la même taille que la BNF ou la pyramide du Louvre :-) Le mieux de toute façon c'est que la France finisse par admettre un droit de panorama, ce serait quand même plus simple et plus naturel. Il y a plusieurs problématiques imbriquées dans ces histoires. Indépendamment du droit d'auteur, le propriétaire peut vouloir restreindre l'exploitation de photos de son bien, même quand il se trouve sur l'espace public, et ce pour deux raisons :

• le respect de sa vie privée : pour les cathédrales, bof ;
• le droit à l'image de son bien (le droit de jouissance du propriétaire s'étend à l'image du bien) : seule l'exploitation commerciale pose problème (autorisée ou pas suivant qu'elle cause ou non un trouble au propriétaire, la jurisprudence est compliquée).

Dans le cas précis des cathédrales ou du patrimoine en général, on peut ajouter d'autres problèmes liés :

• à la préservation et à la bonne conservation du bâtiment : le flash peut poser problème, mais on ne voit pas en quoi le trépied est gênant ;
• à la bonne circulation du public dans le monument, qui effectivement peut être une bonne raison suivant le cas.

Enfin, très souvent, le règlement du monument en question interdit expressément trépied, flash et/ou photos.

Généralement, les gens qui veulent t'empêcher de prendre des photos et/ou de poser un trépied invoquent une ou plusieurs de ces raisons à l'appui, même quand c'est de toute évidence de mauvaise foi : plusieurs connaissances ont témoigné avoir été virées avec leur trépied du pied de la tour Eiffel alors qu'il n'y avait presque personne alentour (si, si, ça arrive). Mon interprétation personnelle est que les gens (conservateurs, policiers, etc.) ne veulent qu'autrui puisse se faire du fric sur leur dos. Qui dit trépied de qualité (pas les petits machins des touristes) dit photographe pro, donc type qui essaie de se faire du fric sur leur dos => pas de trépied.

Pour les cathédrales, tu dois pouvoir essayer de demander une autorisation écrite à l'évêché ou demander à la personne responsable de l'église, en montrant tes photos antérieures, en soulignant que c'est à des fins culturelles (une encyclopédie en ligne) et en promettant de leur laisser les fichiers (sous forme de CD par exemple). Tu peux aussi demander à l'association Wikimédia France (qui regroupe des contributeurs français) de demander l'autorisation pour toi, le côté "papier à en-tête" impressionne parfois les gens (j'ai eu des accréditations presse pour des meetings politiques comme ça). Je reconnais le symptôme... Wikimédia France essaie d'obtenir le droit de prendre des photos au palais du Luxembourg ; on a rencontré une oreille sympathique, mais quand on précise que nos photos seront libres, même pour un usage commercial, ça coince : les gens imaginent aussitôt qu'ils vont se faire gruger, que des affreux vont devenir riches sur leur dos en vendant des montages avec actrice porno dans leur bâtiment, etc. C'est une paranoïa réelle (sans doute alimentée par le fait que le patrimoine français manque chroniquement d'argent). Dur de faire évoluer les mentalités...

Wikimédia France a une liste de diffusion générale, wikimediafr-l-bounceslists.wikimedia.org, son conseil d'administration (qui se charge généralement des demandes d'autorisation comme celle que tu évoques) est joignable ici : cawikimedia.fr. C'est une assoce de bénévoles comme nous tous, donc ne t'étonne pas si avoir les échanges prennent du temps... En tout cas, si tu donnes dans la photo de concert ou la photo de presse, la demande de la part de l'assoce est relativement efficace. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 17:03, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Oui, dans un certain nombre de cas ça frise l'abus de droit. Si j'avais plus de sous et de temps, il y aurait déjà quelques recours de déposés devant le tribunal administratif... Pour la BNF, le problème est que le règlement interdit très probablement l'usage du trépied. Tu peux toujours demander à voir le règlement pour vérifier que c'est le cas ou non, mais je doute.

Pour les accréditations, concrètement, ça m'a permis à moi et Guillom d'accéder à l'espace réservé aux journalistes devant la scène pendant des meetings. C'est évidemment plus facile de photographier la personne qui cause sur l'estrade quand on est à quelques mètres que quand on est dans les tribunes et qu'on doit dégainer le 500/4...

Pour Roland-Garros et d'autres événements de grande envergure en revanche je ne sais pas si l'argument Wikipédia fera le même effet : ils doivent déjà refuser des accréditations à des photographes pros, alors... En tout cas ça ne coûte rien d'essayer et on peut peut-être obtenir quelque chose pour les premiers tours. Mais bon, en comparaison les anglophones ont essayé d'obtenir une accréditation au festival de Cannes en présentant un photographe pro à la retraite, et ils se sont fait bouler. Bonjour Benh.
Oui, je sais que mon P.S. pouvait choquer mais je pense (et j'espère !) que Luc a compris dans quel sens je voulais le dire. Il fait normalement de l'excellent travail mais là c'est techniquement tellement mauvais que c'en est choquant. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi il a présenté cette photo dans cet état. Bon, en la regardant de plus près, je devine que c'est parce que la netteté n'était pas top (et ne l'est toujours pas d'ailleurs) et qu'il a voulu l'améliorer, mais il a fait là une faute de débutant en ne limitant pas ce filtre sur la seule zone du sujet. Enfin bon, rien de bien grave.

Merci pour tes compliments (et très beaux panoramiques que j'avais déjà remarqués, d'ailleurs). C'est vrai que la majorité d'entre elles sont uniquement en français, mais… c'est que je les fait en svg, donc directement traduisibles (il y en a même une que quelqu'un a traduite en russe !). C'est bien là l'un des importants avantages du format svg. Pour les FPC, le fait qu'un texte sur un schéma ou une carte soit dans une autre langue que l'anglais n'est pas une limitation. Une de mes cartes a d'ailleurs été élue et il n'y a eu aucune remarque sur le fait qu'elle était en français. Si les discussions sur Commons se font en anglais pour des raisons de commodités, le matériel qu'elle contient vient de tous les horizons puisque c'est le serveur central de toutes les WPs. Pour les FPC limitées à une langue spécifique il y a ces pages de candidatures dans chaque WP (mais la francophone n'est pas active).

Hey Benh! You allready recognized that iam from Nuremberg. Normally i buy my equipment in the internet. The cheapest seller for your tripod is this one. He will also deliver to france but that will be additional 24,90 Euros for shiping. Its very hard to find real shops, where to buy that stuff. Portraits on Commons

Hi Benh, I'm not a lawyer and I don't know very much about Personality rights and reading the dedicated page on Wikipedia don't help me because I see that rules are different from country to country.
My portraits are taken in public places and I think they are not offensive for the subjects. My personal "rule" is: ask permission before the shot and/or show the image to the subject and if I feel that people have been happy to be portrayed I publish their photos.
This is valid for me since I don't earn money from these photographs. Does it make sense to you? --LucaG 18:47, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Photos_Stitching

Cher Benh, writing guidelines or a handbook on how to make stitched images properly is also something I would like to do if I had more spare time. For a start, feel free to recycle Commons:Image guidelines#Stitched images, panoramas, I have contributed text and several photos on how not doing it.

If there is more time, would it be worth writing a wikibook?

And then there are the folks of the hugin program proper, actively communicating in a google group, there currently is an effort going on to write the help pages for hugin. There are also some tutorials, maybe it is worth to make a joint effort. For example to concentrate on aspects that have not been covered yet.

And hugin has changed during the last year and become more powerful. Some recommendations valid a year ago would be detrimental today. Also I expect a new version of hugin to come out soon, there has been quite some coding effort this summer. -- Klaus with K 12:05, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

While adding a featured picture to the FP-gallery I missed the green bicycle for which I voted and thus noted that: [1], [2], [3], [4] and [5]. This eight pictures have one thing in common. You closed the nomination and declared them as featured. But you added none of them to the Commons:Featured pictures gallery, just to the general overview. Is there a reason why they were not worth to be added more than the few days it takes until the next new featured pictures overwrite them? I have now added the ones above but if there where some more you forgot to add please do it yourself. After all you should still know where you closed the nomination. Salut Benh, je ne sais pas si tu te souviens de moi - j'ai pris l'initiative de nominer la premiere de (la longue liste de) tes photos qui a ete nominee en FP. Je suis en train de travailler sur l'article de la wiki francaise centre commercial (voir l'article si ca t'interesse) et j'aimerais te passer commande de quelques photos si tu as le temps de te consacrer a ce petit projet sur un aspect sinon essentiel du moins important de la vie moderne.

• photos d'une galerie marchande du XIXe (vague souvenir d'un passage sublime pres de la place des victoires)
• photos d'un centre commercial parisien ou de la banlieue parisienne (probleme de droit de panorama en France :-( exterieur et interieur) - contacter la direction pour obtenir le droit de prendre les photos ?
• details sur le parking (signaletique, voies d'acces) - a priori plus facile au niveau legal.

Ps - je suis messin et j'adore tes photos de la cathedrale de Metz. Si tu repasses dans le coin, je te rencarde avec mon pere qui est un puit de science et par ailleurs le proprietaire d'un monument historique, l'hotel de Burtaigne (article homonyme dans wikipedia).
