Pirol-Bilder[edit]

Servus Baldhur! Schön dich auch hier zu treffen. Als erstes hab ich aber eine Anregung: Wenn du Bilder aus einer Wikipedia hier hochlädtst ist es sicher besser wenn du unter "Quelle" einen Link direkt zur jeweiligen Bildbeschreibungsseite setzt und nicht nur allgemein zur betreffenden Wikipedia. Auf diese Art ist die Ursprungsversion nämlich nur schwer zu finden. Ich hab das jetzt bei den drei Pirol-Bildern (Image:Oriole_1.jpg, Image:Oriole_2.jpg, Image:Oriole_3.jpg) ergänzt. Außerdem hab ich auf den polnischen Bildbeschreibungsseiten auch noch Hinweise auf die Commons eingebaut, damit die Bilder nicht noch jemand in seiner eigenen Wikipedia hochlädt. --Franz Xaver 12:59, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hallo Franz - ich werde Deinen Rat in Zukunft beherzigen. Ich hatte auch versucht, Dixi selbst zu benachrichtigen. Es sind eine Menge schöner Fotos in dieser Galerie. Leider ist seine Diskussionsseite geschützt, darum ging es bisher nicht. -- Baldhur 16:27, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Image deletion warning[edit]

You uploaded Image:Scopus umbretta.jpg, which is allowed to use only educationally or non-commercially. The image is now in deletion requests. But the image was erroneously marked as a GFDL image in English Wikipedia, where you found it. -Hapsiainen 17:17, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
