Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

I reuploaded the content only after reediting the image to change the EXIF copyright data to indicate that I release it under the CCA-SA license. I am the creator of the content and copyright owner.

I fully understand that Commons procedure can be a nuisance. Please understand that about 8,000 images are uploaded every day, of which about 2,000 are ultimately deleted, usually for copyright reasons. Several times each week we get a user who claims that he is the copyright holder, when, in fact, he is not, and has simply grabbed the image off the web. So, please think of this as Commons protecting Instinct Images, the copyright holder, against possible theft by User:BZillaGorilla, who could be Instinct Images or someone else completely unrelated. Without OTRS, we have no way of knowing which is true.

I know it is hard to have people question your words, but aside from 13 edits here and 12 on WP:EN, we know nothing about you. While most of our 25,000 monthly editors are honest contributors, several hundred are not, hence our caution.

If you word the OTRS license generally, "All images uploaded by User:BZillaGorilla from Instinct Images", this will be the last time you will be bothered by this issue on an upload. Once you have sent the OTRS message I would be happy to expedite the restoration. Harry Mitchell also volunteered to do it.

Jim thank you for actually taking the time to explain it. I understand that it is designed to protect the copyright holder. When my first image was deleted I thought it was because I forgot to change the copyright statement in the Exif from "© Instinct Images - All Rights Reserved" (my normal copyright statement automatically added via action in Photoshop) to "© Instinct Images - Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike License". I did a new edit and made sure the Exif was correct and uploaded the image only to have it deleted again. I'm not sure where someone thinks I stole the image the day it was shot only to upload it to wiki commons. Seems like common sense would indicate that I am the creator of the content as I affirmed when I uploaded it.

Anyway thank you for explaining that the OTRS license can be done just once and apply to future uploads and that the process can be expedited. When I was asked to send an OTRS email yesterday I read that the current backlog was 75 days and I decided it was too much hassle to deal with. I was under the assumption that I would have to send an email for EACH images I uploaded which obviously would be cumbersome to say the least!

I will send the OTRS license today. Thanks again for your help.

 Done Knowing that Commons can be a steep learning curve for beginners, we do try to be helpful.

As for the lack of common sense, again remember the 2,000 images a day that we delete. Ten Admins do 90% of that, so we all work fairly fast -- too fast to apply any common sense when a new user uploads a deleted image a second time. That's too bad -- I wish we could give better service to the community, but unless we can double the number of really active Admins, we're stuck with working as fast as we can to stay ahead of the avalanche.

I should add that Herbythyme, who left the {{Dont recreate}} above has been a great mentor to me, is also one of the ten busy Admins, and is one of the seven people on Commons trusted to be a Checkuser.
