Warning[edit]

Don't upload promotional content. Jcb (talk) 23:12, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry for uploading promotional content, I have already sent a email with explanation to you. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. B3581475
Unblocks for a spam-only account are unusual. We normally don't do that. I see no explanation either why it would have been justified to upload the whole series of spam images again after my clear warning. Jcb (talk) 14:58, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to unload those images for testing an article in my sandbox. I thought the sandbox could only be seen by me and would be ok to use these images. As a new editor I really didn't notice your warning in my page at first, I thought I just didn't upload correctly. Only after been blocked I finally found where the problem was.Hope you can understand it, I will not upload those spam images anymore. Sorry again for my carelessness — Preceding unsigned comment added by B3581475 (talk • contribs) 15:34, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have shortened your block to a week. Jcb (talk) 17:23, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help and understanding. And I have a question, is it allowed to upload a logo for a company? Since I uploaded a company logo and was also deleted because of spam. But I intended to place the image in the infobox at the top of the article, the purpose is to help other readers identify the organization. — Preceding unsigned comment added by B3581475 (talk • contribs) 06:02, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Don't do it. Wikipedia/Wikimedia is not the place to promote your company. Jcb (talk) 15:29, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that this is not a place for promotion and advertisement. But my purpose is to assure the readers that they have reached the right article they intended. The logo I mean is like the logos in Apple, Sony, IKEA's article. Without any promotional intention.B3581475

Exercise your attention[edit]

Revision of User_talk:Ronhjones

First, new topics on Commons are to be created, surprisingly, by creation of a new section, not editing the talk page in a random place.

Second, is it about uploading the specified picture to Commons? If you write reasonably good English, then you should also be able to read in English. In short: no uploading to Commons because here is no fair use. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 08:55, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good day, Incnis Mrsi. I asked Ronhjones because he gave me advice to upload the logo on en-wiki.
I read the articles you gave me but still can't understand, how to upload logos correctly to commons like this, so that it can be used in different articles.
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sony_logo.svg
I tried to upload but was deleted because of the suspicion of spam.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thanks for your help

Sony is here due to {{PD-textlogo}}; in short, it is trademarked while not copyrighted. Not the case for Logo_of_MSI_FUNTORO,_Jan_2018.png; upload such images to wikipedias locally (except es. and pt. where it’s forbidden completely). Incnis Mrsi (talk) 10:41, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply but sorry I don't quite get it. Why the template is not the case for FUNTORO Logo? And What do you mean " upload such images to wikipedias locally"? FUNTORO is a Taiwanese company and it's logo is work of mine, I would like to know where the problem lies on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by B3581475 (talk • contribs) 11:10, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A work of yours? Made for yourself, not as a contracted job? And you are willing to make this media free? Proceed to Email templates then (the full form). Do not forget to specify which namely file do you release: File:Msi FUNTORO logo1-01.png, File:Msi FUNTORO logo2-01.png, or some another from here. But without releasing under a free license (not necessarily public domain) again, no uploading here. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 11:38, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for your help, I will work on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by B3581475 (talk • contribs) 13:31, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
