misleading renaming

Dear Alan@Efrat, as the photographer of File:Route 404 06 2012-03-17.jpg may I point out that the photo shows Route 404 and not Highway 50 as it was taken before the name change. The discussion on enwiki relates to the road in general, the photo to a specific point in time. This is why I deem this name change (these name changes) erroneous. Nevertheless best regards. -- KlausFoehl (talk) 10:55, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Greetings, KlausFoehl! If the photo was taken in March, 2012, then "404" was already officially referred to as "50" although it took a long time for various agencies to update their documentation. In fact, the change began in 2011. This despite the fact that it has taken months for highway signs to be changed. Furthermore, there is at least one more sign that still awaits the change! (And never mind GoogleMaps, BingMaps, etc. They get updated at a snail's pace.) In any case, I have edited the decription of the photos in question ( JPG Files - Route 404 01/02/03/04/05/06 2012-03-17) to include the former designation. (By the way, I'm not Alan. No matter!) Kind regards,--@Efrat (talk) 00:44, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Dear @Efrat (sorry about the name change), now I understand more about 404 and 50. Editing the descriptions to refer to Route 404 is fine. The current file names do not follow the convention I am using for "my" photos, but I'll think first about it, then discuss it here before initiating another name move. Best regards -- KlausFoehl (talk) 08:49, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by "current file names do not follow..." Those were your names. I changed the "Route 404" part of the names to "Highway 50" and added "IL" which I believe was relevant. The photo numbers (01, 02, 03, etc.) and the date (2012-03-17) remained the same. They are, after all, your photos, so you are free to rename them as you wish. What I'm more interested in is: When are you coming back to visit? lol Kind regards, --@Efrat (talk) 09:54, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
..what you mean by "current file names do not follow..." mainly that I have not included country names in my file names so far, that's it in a nutshell.
When coming back? Most certainly once there is a Schengen-type free travel zone in place, allowing an easy Jaffa-Jerusalem-Jericho-Amman-Damascus-Beirut-Haifa short trip within one day. Possibly before that date. -- KlausFoehl (talk) 11:49, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Renamed to "50". --Alan (talk) 15:33, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Country name? That's a tricky one. Where or who? The road is Israeli built, maintained and (militarily) controlled. Half of it is in Israel. The other half is in "Area C" of the West Bank (under Israeli control). Perhaps you support the UN decision to call the West Bank, Palestine. I gotta say, you've got your work cut out for you. lol As for that that "free travel zone", don't hold your breath! I hope you make it back sooner. Kind regards, --@Efrat (talk) 15:58, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

On the names I choose, usually location name plus/or description. Number and date.
Regarding location name, would "Jerusalem" or "Beit Hanina" be close enough to the mark?
And the geographical situation, I admit it is almost as complicated a situation as en:Baarle-Hertog and en:Baarle-Nassau ;) -- KlausFoehl (talk) 10:27, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Maybe this will help (or confuse!) (based on careful map analysis and GoogleStreetView and my daily drive):
-File:IL Highway 50 01 2012-03-17.jpg - approaching Yadin Interchange, camera location-200 meters inside the Green Line. Overhead highway signs, 125 meters inside, clearly Jerusalem. Far background, in Israeli declared Jerusalem Municipality (between Ramot and Ramat Shlomo), considered West Bank by international community, Area C (full Israeli civil and security control, except over Palestinian civilians) according to Oslo Accords.
-File:IL Highway 50 02 2012-03-17.jpg - declared Jerusalem Municipality / West Bank, Area C
-File:IL Highway 50 03 2012-03-17.jpg - camera in West Bank, Area C. Approaching houses in background, Bir Nabbala, Area B (Palestinian civil control and joint Israeli-Palestinian security control)
-File:IL Highway 50 04 2012-03-17.jpg - camera in West Bank, Area C. Approaching houses in background, Bir Nabbala, Area B
-File:IL Highway 50 05 2012-03-17.jpg - (behind walls) Bir Nabbala, West Bank, Area B
-File:IL Highway 50 06 2012-03-17.jpg - (behind walls) Bir Nabbala, West Bank, Area B
The focus of photo 01 is clearly in Jerusalem, 02 depends on your political views, 03/04/05/06 are West Bank even by most Israelis.
I edited the photos to include coordinates. Good luck figuring this out. --@Efrat (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for all this information...at the moment no time aka more than enough work...maybe later.
Sounds a little bit like en:Derry or en:Londonderry (the en:Derry, New Hampshire and en:Londonderry, New Hampshire situation is easier) -- KlausFoehl (talk) 12:54, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
