Hoi Arch.

Vriendelijke groeten, Arch (talk) 08:45, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bedankt voor het snelle updaten! Groet, Pompidom (talk) 08:51, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gaasterland-Sloten wapen[edit]

File:Gaasterland-Sloten wapen.svg

It appears to me that the crown is not centered above the shield. Am I mistaken? Is this intentional?

And the color of the hare seems slightly off (not as rich/saturated as the blue, green and yellow hues) but that is just my uniformed aesthetic talking!

Gregors (talk) 08:49, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seemed to be that the crown was indeed a littlebit too far to the right. That has been resolved. About colors, I would not debate, they are identical to the existing arms, but feel free to improve them.

Arch (talk) 09:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not being Dutch nor having access to any original heraldry from the area, I'll pass on "improving" the colors (I have not seen a red hare for quite some time now and do not have anything to compare your work to). Gregors (talk) 12:55, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Official blason reads a red hareKnorrepoes (talk) 10:44, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You may assume that I know what I am doing. It is not the first coat of arms that I did make. I thought you meant a lighter shade of red or something and thats irrelevant in Dutch heraldric rules, except the use of different kinds of one colour etc. In this case a used a brighter colour for gold and blue. The hase should be red nothing else. (See picture of the original coat of arms on the official municipality website itself). If you lack any expertise, dont give criticism on irrelevant matters and please do not bother me anymore with trivial issues. This is such a waste of time, I can use my time so much better. Goodbeye. Brummen[edit]

MVG, --Arch (talk) 08:55, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When I saw that image on the display of recently-uploaded files, it seemed too large in filesize given its visual simplicity, so I opened it in a text editor, and removed all useless code. (I don't actually use Inkscape to edit files, only to convert or test SVG files...). -- AnonMoos (talk) 15:40, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for this tip. Currently I am unfortunately without text editor, I shall try to get something I can use. Never crossed my mind to use a text editor, but its sounds very logical. Kind regards --Arch (talk) 15:46, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure you have a default text editor on your operating system (Windows Notepad/Wordpad etc.), though it may be better to get one oriented towards programmers' use if you intend to do it frequently. SVG files are actually basically in text format (since they are an offshoot of XML). AnonMoos (talk) 16:52, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have to find out. Right now I am unable to open a file with Wordpad. I'll try to make an another attempt tomorrow ;-) I've been awake 20 hours now, I'm a litlebit fuzzy in my head right now... :-S Thanks for the tips anyway :-) --Arch (talk) 17:23, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right click on the SVG file, and select "Open with..." then "Choose program" to let Windows know that Wordpad should be allowed to edit SVG files... AnonMoos (talk) 22:31, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
First test on File:Hoppenbrouwer_wapen.svg was successful, saved a lot of bits ;-) I will definitely continue with this experiment. Clearly a kind of bug in the program. Thanks again for your time :-) Arch (talk) 02:03, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Grenspaal[edit]

Groetjes, Ciell (talk) 11:15, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Echt geweldig Ciell!
Groetjes, Ciell (talk) 08:55, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ontzettend blij mee!
Ciell (talk) 09:44, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aangaande plaatsing familiewapen Engelbrecht[edit]

Vriendelijke groeten, --Arch (talk) 14:05, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

hello, I'm dunkerqueenflandre, I am researching coats of arms and crowns in the Kingdom of Holland from 1806 to 1810.

Could you tell me or do I look for on the net I can find nothing on the crowns of Prince and the Royal coat of arms of the first son of Louis Bonaparte (Napoleon Lodewijk):

Napoleon Bonaparte Karel,

The most important thing for me is the crown because I found the crown since 1815 to the present.
