Misidentification of File:Cornflower Closeup.jpg

Hi Aplucas0703, your image above does not show cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), but some different kind of Centaurea species with much narrower and more slender shapes of the showy tubular flowers in the flower head. Your image looks much more like Centaurea montana, which occurs as a wildflower in some areas, but is also a frequently cultivated ornamental plant. As you can see, Centaurea montana and Centaurea triumfettii resemble much more your image than Centaurea cyanus, which does not mean that your photograph must show one of these species. I modified the ID, but I am not sure about the actual species, e.g. because the involucral bracts are not in focus. --Robert Flogaus-Faust (talk) 22:12, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
