The Image which I upload is my work, and I didnt download from web.

Please tell me Why u removed Karaikal ammaiyar.jpg. This image is my work. And I didnt download from web. Its my own image. Reg the image which u have reverted is not Karaikkal ammaiyar. Please reply me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Balamurugan.code (talk • contribs) 02:56, 02 December 2016 (UTC)

How could you tell that it was your work and the same image already found in various websites. --AntanO 09:35, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Ordnance Factory Board's images deleted

Most of my own images that I uploaded to commons were deleted without nominating them for deletion. That was my 4 years worth of work. You cited copyright violation as the reason for deletion, but I'm the actual owner of all the images I upload. I serve in OFB and take the pictures myself. I have images of the same products and places from different angles. Let me know what do you want me to furnish to establish that all those images belong to me, I shall be happy to provide.--BharatRakshak (talk) 06:48, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

The images were already found in various websites before you upload here. Eg: .32 Nirbheek Revolver by OFB India.jpg was uploaded yesterday, but it is already found at here, and logos (fair-use) are not allowed here too. @Didym: --AntanO 07:48, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
These were tagged as per Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion. You may request for undeletion if you could prove that you are the owner of the work. If you feel that you need further clarification, feel free to discuss. --AntanO 07:52, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
All those images were taken by me. Let me know how to show them to you.--BharatRakshak (talk) 09:45, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
I don't see any other methods than sending a confirmation of this to OTRS to have the files restored. --Didym (talk) 15:07, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
I'm sorry but you will have to explain me the procedure of above--BharatRakshak (talk) 16:41, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
You better start replying and start clearing up the mess you have created. List ALL the files that you claim to have seen on other platforms and I shall send the original, uncropped, images from multiple angles. Do let me know where and whom to send the files. You shouldn't have deleted each and every single file of mine. This is a case of prejudice and something more sinister.--BharatRakshak (talk) 14:45, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

Re: File tagging File:K. Palanisamy (cropped2).jpg

AntanO, the parent file of this image, File:K. Palanisamy.jpg, says that the photo is the "own work" of User:Zucavanes. If he is uploading his own work and releasing it under a cc-by-sa 4.0 licence, why does he again need to explicitly give his permission to use the image? Indopug (talk) 06:07, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

I don't see it as own work as per EXIF and previous uploads of the user. --AntanO 10:29, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Your VFC installation method is deprecated

Hello AntanO, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. description for the Pythagorean animation

The description for the animation at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_triple#/media/File:Pythagorean_theorem_-_Ani.gif says, “Animation demonstrating the simplest Pythagorean triple, 32 + 42 = 52.”

It should read: Animation demonstrating the simplest Pythagorean triple, 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2. If you can superscript the 2's that would be even better!

Copyright and use of images

Hi AntanO,

I'm contacting you about the use of your images in my website (www.dixon.es).

If you have a look at the website you'll see that I've added your "Lotus roots curry" (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=40263942) foto to a slider on the home page.

I'm not a programmer, I'm a translator, and fighting with websites is a real trial for me. However, I've got this far, and I'd like to know how you'd like me to proceed with a credit (assuming that you're ok about my using the foto in the first place, of course).

I did initially add a credit to the foto itself, but it looked really poor in the standard slider that I've used, so I removed it and added a "Credits" link on the main menu, with intention of listing all the fotos that I've used along with the corresponding credit and link.

So, before I go ahead, I'd like to have your feedback about the idea, and of course about the use of your foto.

Look forward to hearing from you

Left or Right

As already discussed, a shell is right-handed, if you look a the aperture and it is at the right, and left handed, if is at the left. Please look here, where is said: "The easy way to identify the 'handedness' of a shell is to hold the shell, with the top pointing up, and turned so that you are looking into the entrance hole. If the entrance hole is on the right, the shell is right-handed, if it is on the left, the shell is left-handed." and also in Wikipedia (the upper right picture). A detailed description you find here, where is also clearly said: "A sinistral shell is a shell of a gastropod which is 'left-handed'. The shell is coiled in an anti-clockwise direction, so that when viewed from the front (ventral view) with the spire uppermost, the opening or 'aperture' appears on the left."
So please correct the description in your pictures.
Greetings --Llez (talk) 06:06, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

I cannot consider the source from blog as it consider unreliable source unless prove. Read article en:Dakshinavarti Shankh. It says when it is held with the spout (siphonal canal) pointed up, this conch's spiral twists rightwards (dakshinavarti). Indian continent countries such as India and Sri Lanka have long history about conch and right spiral conchs are especial. For an example, see en:Travancore that featured right spiral conch. --AntanO 09:52, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Pleae note: In the article you mentioned (en:Dakshinavarti Shankh), there is said (referring to the very rare reverse-turning spiral = left handed): "when it is held with the spout (siphonal canal) pointed up, this conch's spiral twists rightwards (dakshinavarti) rather than very much more common form, which twists leftwards (vamavarti).". It is correct, if the SIPHONAL CANAL is pointed up, the aperture is on the right on a left-handed shell. Do you know what SIPHONAL CANAL means? In your pictures the siphonal canal is pointed down (not pointed up!), the spire is pointed up. Turn you photo to 180°, so that the siphonal canal is on the top (as said by en:Dakshinavarti Shankh!), then the aperture is at the left, so it is right-handed according to en:Dakshinavarti Shankh! --Llez (talk) 11:20, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Eg: If first image (black background) turn to 180°, aperture would on the left. So, it is not twists rightwards (dakshinavarti). --AntanO 15:11, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
I think, it is useless to continue the discussion. Keep your opinion about the coiling of the shell and go on ignoring all scientists around the world, the malacozological literature, all Wikipedia articles and also the book "Compendium of landshels" by Tucker abbott, of one of the greatest malacozoologists of the world --Llez (talk) 16:10, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
You ignore other sources, cultural facts and other opinions. You wrongly interpret en:Dakshinavarti Shankh and advise me to keep my opinion. Is it healthier discussion?--AntanO 23:42, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
