Nuvola images

Hi Alphax. It appears that Image:Nuvola 64 apps x.png, Image:Nuvola 64 apps xapp.png, and Image:Nuvola 64 apps xconfig.png, which you uploaded, are all the same. Any preference on which title to keep? dbenbenn | talk 23:26, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

Also, instead of uploading the 64px versions, could you upload the 128px ones? The Commons generally wants the largest possible images. See Image:Nuvola 64 apps kcontrol.png, which I tagged as redundant. dbenbenn | talk 01:10, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Eh, I hadn't thought about it much... I originally went by a suggestion that en:User:ClockworkSoul made on w:en:, but yes, I can upload the 128 versions. If possible, I guess we can omit the image sizes from the filenames too. Alphax 14:41, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Great! I'd like to find out more about Nuvola this weekend. In particular, does the author have vector files for the icons? (Eventually we'll be able to upload resolution-independent SVG files.)

About the duplicates: perhaps it makes sense to keep them, with a note like "See also Foo and Bar, which are the same image but separate files in Nuvola." dbenbenn | talk 19:52, 8 September 2005 (UTC)

Well, I just checked - SVG versions are not available (well, the WMF might be able to buy them or something, since they are LGPL)... if image redirects work, that would also be an acceptable solution, with the most obvious (ie descriptive) name retaining the actual image. Ok, the 128 versions of the apps set are uploaded... unfortunately, the 64 versions of quite a few are in use on fr:Accueil (and elsewhere). Time to start notifying and removing. Alphax 04:15, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
