en:Assumption of Mary translate in ukrainian as uk:Внебовзяття Пресвятої Діви Марії (you can check). Category was named Church of the Assumption in Yazlovets

User from Ukraine Ahonc knows that, but he does not like this name, and he decided to use and abuse his rights

Успіння vel Внебовзяття

I am afraid this your bot change and preceiding rename are not just misleading name fixes, but they introduce a misleading name. Have you any source that the name "Костел Успіння" is commonly used for this object?

Because of theological differences between Roman Catholic and Orthodox theology concerning what happened to St. Mary at the and of her life on earth, it is IMO impossible that any Roman Catholic church is named using a word related to "sleeping" and concerning this event. So using the name "Успіння" here would be against Roman Catholic theology in at least misleading.

Or, maybe, I am wrong, and the photo presents an Othodox church?

I think, the best way here is to preserve original name provided by the uploader and do not change it unless they requests. Any doubts concerning the church name can be described in the file description. If the name provided by the uploader is wrong for some reason, it is definitely not obvious mistake.

As you can see, eg. in Polish language there are differences in naming od Roman Catholic and Ortodox churches; see here and here. Also as I can see the name "Внебовзяття" is commonly used in Ukrainian Roman Catholic church names: [1], [2], [3], [4]. Introducing religious disputes into Commons is not wise.

@Ankry: Yes, I have sources. This church is cultural heritage monument. As WLM organizer, I have regional list of monuments and there it stated as 'Костел Успіння'. And there was discussion about naming of this church in ukwiki. Community decides that 'Успіння' is correct name because tehre huge majority of using 'Успіння'. After the closing of discussion there with leaving name 'Успіння' user Бучач-Львів decides to rename images and change descriptions here to 'Внебовзяття' .--Anatoliy (talk) 11:25, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
The main problem here is that nobody pointed out the source... At least no independent source on file description page. If there are publicly available sources for only one name, than you might be right. Ankry (talk) 11:32, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
this page states "Костел Внебовзяття Пресвятої Діви Марії Копичинці", so at least we have a doubt here. Ankry (talk) 11:38, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
As it is WLM objects, I use official monument lists as main source. There are no 'Внебовзяття' in regional monument list, only 'Успіння'. They call both Assumption and Dormition as Успіння.--Anatoliy (talk) 21:01, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
