Warning sign
This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:BobRennie1.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Hi H., the obvious problem is that the image is sourced to "Bob Rennie", which is a different person than you. As you wrote that you got the photo from Bob Rennie, the first step would be to check who is really the photographer and the rights holder, as the image doesn't look like a self-portrait. In case Bob Rennie did indeed shoot the image by himself, then you only need his permission. In case Bob Rennie did not shoot the image, then he needs to get the permission from the photographer, as distributing an image under a free license is something alltogether different than just printing it on one's own business cards. However, in both cases you should "target" him for the permission. As already explained in the problem message on File:BobRennie1.jpg, you should go to Commons:Email templates, copy the boxed "Declaration of consent for all inquiries", enter the filename (or complete URL) of the image, enter the name of the license of choice and mail that all to Bob Rennie and then ask him, to put his legal name and date under it and to mail it back to permissions-commonswikimedia.org. --Túrelio (talk) 12:11, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll do that [User:AcrosstheWater]

Please forward the permission to the mail given in the warning notice on your talk page. If the permissiion is sufficient, an OTRS agent will undelete this image. --Denniss (talk) 10:03, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
