Iceland[edit]

I'd prefer you won't upload newer versions of maps because lots of your uploads miss information that older version of these map had. This is no help at all. You better inform the original uploader of these maps so they can correct their maps. NNW 18:49, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@NordNordWest: I can add the numbers, if that's what you'd wished for. What else do you have a problem with, I'd like to know in order to be able to fix them. A Red Cherry (talk) 19:15, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As for another note, yes I did message some people, like Tubs and Bjarki himself. No response yet, so far (and it's been a few months since then). A Red Cherry (talk) 19:15, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Iceland adm location map.svg: all rivers vanished.
Regions of Iceland.png: completely new map, ignoring Commons:Overwriting existing files and a problem for all who use the map outside Wikipedia/Commons; have you checked that no Wikipedia version needs the numbers of the former version? I doubt it.
Vesturland.png: same problem. NNW 19:31, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Iceland adm location map.svg: Thank you for resolving that problem
Regions of Iceland.png: now I've just fixed that.
Others/everything (else): same goes, as above

You didn't change anything at Commons. You better hurry to fix the problems, otherwise your edits have to be reverted. NNW 18:23, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
this had been changed already. Once again, may I ask what else you have a problem with? A Red Cherry (talk) 21:32, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You ignored Commons:Overwriting existing files and you didn't correct Regions of Iceland.png. There are still Wikipedia pages that use the numbers that were shown before your "update". That's the problem. NNW 07:26, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I'm not sure which part/section of Commons:Overwriting existing files I "violated", could you please clarify? I believed I had fixed all the numbers with File:Iceland, administrative divisions - Nmbrs.svg but I still changed Regions of Iceland.png anyways. Could you please direct me to any main-wiki pages where there's a persisting problem? Thank you for your help and guidance. A Red Cherry (talk) 22:52, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you the link, it's Commons:Overwriting existing files. The file description is rubbish now because Bjarki S didn't made this map. It's a DW of Island location map now which was made by me and has got a completely different style. Please upload this map with a new name and a correct file description. People who use Bjarki S's map cannot link to his map now and all the licensing becomes nonsense: the creator's name is wrong and the license is wrong (Island location map.svg isn't licensed under GFDL). Thanks for uploading File:Scottish Parliament election map 2016real.svg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Abzeronow (talk) 16:34, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
