Some are diveded based on the current state of categorizing system. There might be little justification for dividing singers etc. of cultures which languages have grammartical sex and/or separate words for female/male professions. But that isn't an argument for categorizing them the same all over the world. Take for example categories of species (plants, animals etc) where Americans and Australians categorize plain species categories containing specimens from all over the world under their "Nature of the United States" etc., but non of the European editors do it in their categories as this makes no sense to them. So things can differ on country basis.

What's more important here, categories that you are dealing with don't really divide men and women, they extract women from general genderless categories. There are separate categories for women, but not for men. Also, sex is a non-defining characteristic, so there really isn't a reason to categorise women separately. Also, for most of professions you don't categorize men and women separately, then why categorize these a few. Also, in Estonian there is no grammatical sex nor separate words for women/men professions, so for Estonians that most actively browse "People of Estonia", this separating schema produces only confusion.

So if editors of some countries consider it wise to separate women in these specific cases, let them be, I'm not going to argue with them about it. But before categorising people of Estonia, please consider all that I said above. 88.196.241.249 06:53, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

You have stolen some hours of my life with your reverts, which I name vandalism. When you miss some "male categories", then create them. So simple.

I don't miss men categories, all countries miss them, there are only some separate women categories.

Commons is a multilanguage/multinational project, unlike English Wikipedia it tries to comply with needs of all languages/nations not just follow English/American standard, other than the fact that category titles are single language (English) for technical reasons. 88.196.241.249 07:14, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
