Pictures for children must meet a few conditions. A perhaps incomplete list may be mentioned here.

• The images are labeled as Quality image or Valued image. Alternatively, they should at least meet the rules of the awards.
• The motive is clearly recognizable and factually presented.
• They do not show any political content.
• They do not show any trademarks or protected symbols.
• They do not show things with rights of third parties. An exception is made for objects with reference to the freedom of panorama. For these images, the author is named. Another exception applies to objects not covered by copyright protection.
• They do not show hatred or violence. Also contemptuous, degrading or otherwise in any way offensive is not to be seen.
• The representation is natural. So they are not abstract or artistic images or images with distortions, plunging lines or other such features.
• They do not fall under the protection of personal data. Legitimate interests of others are respected.

The set of rules is not binding and refers only to images of the author.
