I am a simple person, blessed with magic eyes and a creative mind. I was born in a family of ten, where no one was having this instinct of using camera except me.
At the age of 12, I first picked Camera YASHIKA Electro 35 which was used by my father. He was always supportive in nourishing my baby of photography. I captured various un-forgettable moments with this camera and received a lot of appreciations in friends and family which led my hobby into a passion.
Being a beginner at photography; I always kept myself busy in exploring new dimensions and joined Photo Club of Karachi (PCK) where I met a lot of beginners as well as senior photographers. During this journey, I remained a part of lot of photography meet-ups to explore different parts of Karachi and interior Sindh that really helped in making new contacts.
In 2010, I bought my first DSLR Canon 400D camera worth 40,000 PKR with 18-55mm kit lens and I started feeling like a bird with ‘brand new wings’. I then visited many places, causes and captured many photos which I uploaded on my first social facebook page as Simon Images and flickr profile Simon Images. These pages has given thousands of friends/ fans across the globe who appreciated my clicks a lot which gives me a new course of taking my hobby more seriously.
I started working with a very renowned Photographer Nadeem A. Khan Photography as an assistant / junior photographer. He is the person ‘adopted’ me firstly as a professional photographer. He teaches maximum about the new techniques of photography and appreciates my work, which principally gave a turn out to my ‘passion into profession’.
And one thing I drew from it, we should opt for a profession for which we are really zealous. Parents usually force children to fulfill their desires and ambitions; they do not realize their child’s aptitude towards specific area of work.
God blessed me with an understanding heart, my fiancée who herself is quite good in imaging. She always tries to push me to continue in whatever I feel passionate and comfortable. And one thing I drew from it, we should opt for a profession for which we are really zealous. I love to capture real smiles, real emotions, real laughter and real life, that’s why I strive to capture every natural moment. I wish to make stories out of my images, the story of weddings, families, their love and different lifestyles.
