Observatorio J87 La Cañada (La Cañada Observatory), is a private astronomical facility in La Cañada, Ávila, Spain, founded by Juan Lacruz in 2002.

The aim is to monitor NEOs (Near Earth Objects) other asteroids and comets.

The observatory joined the International Astronomical Union sending the first astrometric observations in the summer of 2002 to The Minor Planet Center then was assigned the observatory code J87 La Canada.

This observatory is credited with the discovery of 73 numbered asteroids as of May 2024.

Since March 2022 joined the international asteroid warning network IAWN which is endorsed by the united nations office for outer space affairs UNOOSA for an international response to a potential NEO impact threat.

The observatory tracks the ambiental evolution of the surroundings mantaining a digital archive of wild life, climatic phenomena and mountain landscapes.
