JaffaFalcon is the wiki user name of : Sharif Prof. Dr. Norman Ali Bassam Ali Taher Mohammad Ahmad Ahmad Mostafa Abdallah Mohammad Khalaf-Prinz Sakerfalke von Jaffa (born 05 July 1962 in Saarbrücken, Germany). A Palestinian-German zoologist, ecologist, geologist, author and publisher. He is the author and publisher of Gazelle : The Palestinian Biological Bulletin (ISSN 0178-6288), the first Palestinian scientific journal worldwide (since 1983); and the author of twelve books: Gazelle: The Palestinian Biological Bulletin (2004), Aquatica Arabica (2005), Mammalia Arabica (2006), Felidae Arabica (2007), Carnivora Arabica (2008), Fauna Palaestina – Part One (2009), Fauna Emiratus – Part One (2010), Fauna Palaestina – Part Two (2012), Fauna Palaestina – Part Three (2013), Fauna Palaestina – Part Four (2014), Fauna Palaestina - Part Five (2015), The Family of Sharif Hajji Taher Mohammad Ahmad Ahmad Mostafa Khalaf from Jaffa, Palestine (2018), and the co-author of the book Palestine: A Guide (2005/2006/2007). He discovered and scientifically named seventeen new animal species and subspecies. Two Cetacean subspecies: The Chilean Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus chilensis Khalaf, 2020) from Chile, and the Arabian Sea Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus arabica Khalaf, 2021) from the Arabian Sea and Western Indian Ocean. Two Palestinian mammal subspecies from the Gaza Strip: The Gaza or Palestine House Mouse (Mus musculus gazaensis Khalaf, 2007) and the Palestine Golden Jackal (Canis aureus palaestina Khalaf, 2008); and the Pink Panther or the Pink-hued Leopard (Panthera pardus roseus Khalaf, 2013) from South Africa; and the Arabian or Makkah Baboon (Papio hamadryas makkah Khalaf, 2015) from Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia; and three freshwater fish subspecies: The Emirati or Wadi Al Wurayah Blind Cave Fish (Garra barreimiae wurayahi Khalaf, 2009), the Emirati or Bassam Khalaf's Tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus bassamkhalafi Khalaf, 2009) from the Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates and the Palestine or Wadi Qana Doctor Fish (Garra rufa wadiqana Khalaf, 2013) from Wadi Qana Nature Reserve, Salfit Governorate, State of Palestine; and three gastropods: the Umm Dimna White Desert Land Snail (Sphincterochila boissieri ummdimna Khalaf, 2014) from Umm Dimna (Dimona) in Al-Naqab (Negev) Desert, Palestine; the Khorfakkan White Dorid Nudibranch Sea Slug or Ola Khalaf's Nudibranch (Diaphorodoris olakhalafi Khalaf, 2017) from the Sea of Khorfakkan, Gulf of Oman, Arab Sea, Indian Ocean; and the Dibba Brown-spotted Dorid Nudibranch Sea Slug or Nora Khalaf's Nudibranch (Trapania norakhalafae Khalaf, 2017) from Dibba Sea, Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean; and one crustacean species: the Renate Khalaf's Clear Cleaner Shrimp (Urocaridella renatekhalafae Khalaf, 2018) from the Gulf of Oman; and four fossils: the Arabian or Emirati Four-Tusked Elephant Fossil († Stegotetrabelodon syrticus emiratus Khalaf, 2010) from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; the Sharjah or Arabian Coelacanth Fish Fossil († Coelacanthus sharjah Khalaf, 2013) from Sharjah Natural History and Botanical Museum in Sharjah, Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; the Palestine or Al-Naqab Coelacanth Fish Fossil († Macropomoides palaestina Khalaf, 2013) from the Anthracothere Hill in Al-Naqab, Palestine and the Roundhead-Roundtail Lebanon Coelacanth († Macropoma libanus Khalaf, 2015) from Lebanon.
