Fernando Zamora nació en la ciudad de México en 1975. Es licenciado en Comunicación por la Universidad Iberoamericana fue galardonado en 1996 con una beca del Instituto Sundance por el guión que más tarde se volvería su primera novela, editada por Randomhouse Mondadori con el sello de Plaza y Janés. Fue columnista desde 1995, primero en el periódico Reforma y más tarde en Milenio, diario del que fue corresponsal mientras estudiaba cine en Columbia University (becado por el FONCA) en la ciudad de Nueva York. Ha sido durante varios años profesor invitado en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio en Cuba y ha recibido varios premios por su trabajo fílmico, entre otros en San Sebastián donde participó como becario de la Fundación Carolina y Casa de América en Madrid. Su primer guión de largometraje acaba de ser filmado y Random House-Mondadori publicó en el 2004 su segunda novela. Es guionista de la película Sexo, amor y otras perversiones. Estudió la maestría en Antropología social becado por CONACYT. En el área musical, estudió piano en la Escuela Nacional de Música desde los 10 años con Roberto Ruíz Guadalajara. En la misma institución fue alumno de flauta de pico de Horacio Franco. Actualmente tiene a su cargo el siglo XVI para el proyectro MUSICAT.[1]
