File:Hainan Li Miao.svg[edit]

This is "Flag of Hainan Li Miao People", BUT I searched the entire Chinese Internet and found no evidence of this flag as the flag of the Miao and Li nationalities in Hainan. I retrieved some pictures on Google, but the time point is after 2008, and there is hardly any source other than Wikimedia Commons.

According to my observation, many East and Southeast Asian flags uploaded in the first few years of Wikimedia were problematic, and some were completely fictional; There are also some mistakes.

There are many related examples. For example, in this file, the uploader mistook the Wa State and the United Wa State Party, or mistakenly regarded a political party in Kokang as the flag of Kokang autonomous region, or the "Flag of Salar " is tamgha of the Salur tribe, or the Dongxiang flag seemed to be created with windows drawings. Some flags represent a political opinion, a political party, an army or a historical regime, but they are used to represent an ethnic group. This way is also wrong. False flags reduce the credibility of Wikipedia and affect a generation with hard to verify wrong knowledge. Therefore, I have made many deletion requests, but some editors (such as User:djampa) think that I am conducting political censorship. This kind of speech is REALLY DISGUSTING.

I hope Wikimedia Commons will not only pay attention to the copyright of these documents, but also strictly verify their source, otherwise it should be deleted or renamed. I hope editors who are familiar with the relevant contents of the flags will check the relevant flags more, and don't let Wikipedia mislead readers--Snghrax-DYK (talk) 06:48, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
