WikiProject Numismatics

WikiProject Numismatics is a WikiProject dedicated to creating, improving, and uploading files related to numismatics (coins, banknotes and various forms of exonumia such as tokens). If you feel that you want to participate in the WikiProject, feel free to add your name to the list of members.

Overview

WikiProject Numismatics is a WikiProject dedicated to uploading, and categorising numismatic-related items on Wikimedia Commons, it also works on finding the correct licensing for newly uploaded images and sharing resources for finding high quality images online. It's members are encouraged to help recruit GLAMs and numismatic institutions into donating their works and images. WikiProject Numismatics is open for anyone to join.

New to Commons?

There are a number of excellent training materials to help you upload your files. Use the 'Upload file' button, just below the Wikimedia Commons icon. That will allow you to use the Upload Wizard. For further help on using this tool, see: Commons:Upload Wizard FAQ or take a look at a few videos here.

Taskforces

There are specific taskforces for identifying coins, contacting GLAM's and numismatists off-wiki, uploading images from Flickr, notaphily, and localised taskforces for coinage from a specific time and/or place (e.g. Ancient Greek coins, Chinese coins, Persian coins, Etc.) that you could join.
