Duped template[edit]

In my opinion this template seems a duplicate of {{disputed}}. I suggest to merge this one (and its category ✓ Done) in template:disputed. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 11:27, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ridiculous tag[edit]

If someone believes that a tag is "wrong", just change it. It is impossible for uploaders to understand all different licenses here, and all contradictory opinions on Commons.  Delete this nonsense. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 15:28, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you look when I started on commons, you see that one can learn.  Keep this template. I am not a lawyer and therefore I am cautious regarding license-changes. It is good for reusers to see a warning that something may not be Ok with the file. If you are bold, you can change licenses. I do this in very clear cases only. -- RE rillke questions? 15:39, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yet another one[edit]

I'm not sure what the point is in maintaining this template. I see over 500 files in the category for it (Category:Items with disputed copyright information). From what I can see there is no active process over them.

I suggest deleting it in favor of a regular deletion nomination. There people can bring up details and fix it for keeping or delete it. There is also {{Disputed}}. And if there is no need for alarm and you just need the uploader to change the license because he made a mistake on a recent upload, just tell him on his talk page and leave the file page in unaltered? –Krinkletalk 18:25, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 Info – The category now has 2,899 files. Senator2029 20:38, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
