Edit link[edit]

I've added an edit link, to make commenting easier. Superm401 - Talk 09:24, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've disabled the edit when the status is withdrawn, promoted, or declined. User:Slaunger suggested this, except that he recommended keeping it for withdrawn entries. In general, these won't be edited, so I think it's better not to have the link.
Great. You are fast. The reason why an edit link could be relevant from the withdrawn state is that after the VIC has been withdrawn for some time (a day or so, such that the withdrawer can still undo), the status shall be changed to declined. in both use cases (undo withdrawal|withdrawn->declined) it is convenient to have the edit handle. But its really a big issue...-- Slaunger 10:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. It was my understanding that if a nomination was voluntarily withdrawn, it wouldn't be marked as declined. Superm401 - Talk 14:12, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've also made testcases at Template:VIC-thumb/testcases. There's currently one for each status, but more could be added if desired. Superm401 - Talk 10:32, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Subpage[edit]

The subpage parameter said it was optional, but it didn't work, so I've set that up with just {{{subpage|{{{image}}}}}}. Superm401 - Talk 10:32, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's a nice solution. Actually it should probably be changed to required. Alternatively {{VIC}} would need the same tweak. As a matter of fact subpage is set to image by default in the template which is preloaded on the add nomination edit page, see Template:VIC-nom-preload.
It's probably fine to keep it optional, and preload them equal. You can never be too explicit when it comes to templates. Superm401 - Talk 14:11, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator[edit]

I added the nominator to this template because it's very helpful in looking over the votes on COM:VIC to see which comments come from the nominator, for example. – flamurai 22:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, now that the process is on-going, this seems to be helpful, although the thumbnail display is now very exhaustive. The original idea was that the thumb display should be an appertizer which would trigger the reviewer to hit the review page link to get the full story and see the image in review size. -- Slaunger 04:37, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it would be better more visually compact? – flamurai 04:55, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
