Recommend w:en:Automated species identification services such as iNaturalist (for plants, animals, & other organisms), pl@ntNet, etc. for identification of living organisms. They have an automatic species identifier to aid identification, as well as an identification community that would do the human identification. The hints contain this poorly worded item:
- Any of the popular webmaps (OSM, Google, Bing) in conjunction with street level imagery providers (Mapillary, OpenStreetCam, Street View) can often be used to pinpoint a more exact location once a general location has been established.
Why does "OSM" link to uMap instead of the main OSM site? OpenStreetCam is now known as KartaView, but the KartaView site did not work for me (invalid HTTPS certificate). Brianjd (talk) 07:46, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- Presumably, "Street View" refers to the Google Maps feature. Perhaps it would be better to mention this. Brianjd (talk) 08:03, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
