copied from Template:Personality rights, the author of it there is: 11:12, 16 March 2007 87.234.44.130 (Talk | block) (German restrictions)

Thanks, Yonatan talk 22:11, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The content of this tag is strongly disputed (see related discussion [1]) as it "reports" only one half of the relevant law (aka leaving out §23 of the KUG [2]). So, either this should be incorporated into the template text or the template itself should be clearly labeled that it pertains only to images that do not fulfil the criteria described in § 23 KUG. -- Túrelio 19:34, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't speak German, I just copied it over from the main template, which someone added it to, you are more than welcome to change it in order to make it correct as I have zero knowledge of German personality right laws. Yonatan talk 12:56, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yonatanh, the problem is, that the content of the german template version is not simply a translation of the generic/english version, it is far stronger and refers to german law, but cites only the restrictive part of it, while leaving out the limitation of the restrictions. -- Túrelio 13:58, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then feel free to be bold and fix it (either change it to a translation of the English version or add the missing relevant information). Yonatan talk 14:32, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will, but as I've not enough time now in a week at the earliest. -- Túrelio 14:45, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ooops: Anybody out there speaking German??? (Translation error, and pretty useless "stuff")[edit]

Hi, lang:DE version of this template is wrong from judical point, as of NOW, in that it states:
"... personality rights, DEPENDING on copyright, ..." instead of
"... personality rights, INDEPENDANT of copyright".

Besides, DE version is filled with STUFF which rather DISclarifies than clarifies the problem (seems to be a German-speaking public servants' peculiarity ;]]]] -- just compare file sizes DE vs. EN.

I'm going to make up my mind about how to improve, after SOME feedback is given. How about a temporary subpage to thisone, to work on a better version??? -- Best, [w.] 17:48, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All this text is not useless. It clarifies the situation for readers in Germany. Why remove it? --Fb78 (talk) 12:54, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is rather a wallpaper than an info-box. As the legal situation in Germany (what about Austria and Switzerland) is not more complicated than anywhere else, the text should be downsized. --Don Manfredo (talk) 20:37, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
