[edit]

Editprotected Change "taken or made during the course of the person's official duties" to "taken or made as part of that person's official duties". This text matches that of the relevant statute (17 U.S.C. § 101) as well as using simpler language. VernoWhitney (talk) 21:38, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clarify that PD applies in the US but not necessarily worldwide

[edit]

Edit request Please change public domain. to public domain in the United States. instead. Though works of the US federal government are definitely in the public domain in the US, it is not clear by any means that such works are also in the public domain outside the US. Thanks. --Gazebo (talk) 06:24, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest public domain (may not be in the public domain for countries outside the U.S.) instead. The wording above may suggest to non-American reusers that the work is in the public domain in the U.S. only, which is not. Poké95 11:50, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done I used Gazebo wording as the one used in other similar templates. --Jarekt (talk) 12:18, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

EditrequestPlease change "the image is in the public domain" to "the work is in the public domain", since this template could be used on files other than images (e.g. audio).--219.77.70.229 12:56, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done I opted for "it" to avoid repaeting the word "work" thrice! 4nn1l2 (talk) 02:45, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
